I personally think the Phoneix Suns should sign him immeadiately to back up Nash.  He is a perfect pass first no defense point guard to play for them.  I have a strong belief he catches on with a team in the next few years and becomes a boarder line starter in this league.

That wasn't nearly as bad as the threads before the draft.  There were maybe 3-4 people on this site who actually wanted Rondo over Williams.

Most people wanted Gay or Roy or Foye, since the C's were picking higher in the draft and they were seen as top 10 guys, whereas Rondo and Williams were lower rated. I remember people liking Rondo a lot - there was certainly rumors that Danny LOVED Rondo and might take him with our pick. I on the other hand had no idea who Rondo was. I did know Williams was a punk and didn't understand the love for him. Primarily the pimps were UConn fans too.

Williams should go to Phoenix, had Phoenix not signed Banks, they could have drafted Williams to play behind Nash and he probably would have been effective.

Remember draft night when the C's got the rights to Rondo and passed on Marcus Williams?  Everyone said we were nuts...who's laughing now :P

Is this just representative of another conflict within Golden State's management?  Is Williams a "Mullin guy" that Nellie never really wanted?  Golden State's a mess right now.

I remember before the draft that Rondo was a pretty discussed player on Celticsblog during the draft. I think there are A LOT more people that wanted Rondo over Williams then some might recall.

he won't be resigned by another team unless he gets his act together. This guy has the second coming of jason kidd plus a better shot written all over him he just needs to committ more to the game and his body.

If he does that we have no chance to sign him. If he doesn't doub tainge will take a chance on another pob

im not afraid to admit it....i wasnt happy when we drafted rondo over williams.  i dont follow college hoops too much, but saw a bunch of uconn games.  im glad danny made the right choice!

No, I recall there being very few people that wanted Rondo.  The most popular complaint being that he couldn't shoot jumpshots or free throws.  The Boston media and even a lot of experts were knocking the pick.  There seemed to be only a handful of people on Celticsblog that wanted Rondo.  I wish we could go back in the archives and read all the complaints about the Rondo pick. ;D
