The Lakers are a dirty team and they get nasty when they are losing.  Remember Gerald Wallace's punctured lung and broken rib?

That hit on Perk's shoulder in the Christmas day game was intentional.  They went right at his shoulder knowing that if they could take him out their chances were much better.

Don't forget Odom's tackle of Ray who was just walking up the court.

They are dirty and when they are losing, they get dirtier.

Ariza didn't have any chance of making the play...it was a dirty foul out of frustration because they were getting an old fashion beat down.

Eh. I don't think it was a dirty foul. Anytime you foul someone on a fast break, there's potential for someone to get hurt. Ariza definitely went for the ball but got Rudy in the air. Hope Rudy's okay though.

On the other hand, Odom should absolutely be suspended for leaving the bench area. If I recall correctly, during the Suns-Spurs scuffle in the playoffs, Amare stepped onto the court and was suspended.

Yes, Amare was suspended for taking 1 step onto the court during a fight.  But I believe the rule actually reads:   Any player stepping onto the court during an altercation shall be suspended (unless that player is Kobe Bryant or any other Laker player or LeBron James)  There shall be no exceptions (except those noted above)

Hahahaha -- TP, you are so right.  I guess we will see if the rules have been revised since then!

I watched it Odom should get suspended he came off the bench.

One poster said Pau should get suspended but he was doing anything and was already in the game.

Ariza did make a play on the ball however it was a vicious swipe and rudy was already up in the air.

Lakers are definately bad losers, they were getting a hiding and took it out on poor Rudy.

Looks like they could be without Ariza and Odom for a crunch game away at Houston on Wednesday

It wasn't dirty.  It was unnecessarily hard, but it wasn't dirty.  Had Fernandez gotten right up, no one would have said anything.

And yet that is not the case in the BBD vs. Varajao incident when Baby and the Celtics were considered 'dirty'. AOL Fanhouse's resident Laker fan Brett is saying Ariza's was a flagarant but Baby was clearly 'headhunting'. Truly unbelievable bias.

NBA vice president Stu Jackson decided Tuesday that Lakers forward Trevor Ariza would not be penalized further for his hard foul against Trail Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez, but the league was still taking a long look at whether Lamar Odom's actions merited a suspension under the "leaving the bench" rule.

Portland's Brandon Roy appeared to grab at or shove Ariza before turning his attention to Odom, who appeared to come off the Lakers bench and walk approximately 15 feet toward the fray.

"I stood up, but I stood right there -- I didn't go nowhere," Odom said.

Doesn't Odom know it is on tape?

So, no suspension for Ariza and Odom may or may not be suspended depending on whether you believe the video or what Odom says.

good, ariza shouldn't have been suspended, it sucks for rudy, but even my laker hate can't make that anything else thana  guy going after a block from behind.

If odom gets a game, ill applaud the NBA, since thats what Amare got for standing up and taking a step. If he gets off, it's a pretty clear double standerd.

I'm sorry I don't know what a "tingle" is and I could care less. There's no "tingles" in basketball!

trust me agmar wasen't calling for rudy to get killed, he's one of his favroite players if i recall correctly. He was making a sarcastic joke about how the lakers board will spin it.
