WEEI is reporting that he will be out until the San Antonio or Memphis game...the 20th or 21st.

Home Court has been conceded.

I hope the injury isn't more severe than expected...

"home court has been conceded."

we're in second place and even with these injuries are in the same place we were thought to be.

should beat the lower teams and will have close games with the better ones.

i have us doing the same thing in March with/without KG.

 Wed 11  @ Miami               W
 Fri 13  vs Memphis            W
 Sun 15  @ Milwaukee           W
 Tue 17  @ Chicago             W
 Wed 18  vs Miami              W
 Fri 20  @ San Antonio         L
 Sat 21  @ Memphis             W
Mon 23  vs LA Clippers        W  (fired up from loss)
Wed 25  @ Orlando             W  (fired up from loss)
 Fri 27  @ Atlanta             W
Sun 29  vs Oklahoma City      W

and from the way the teams been playing all year i would add another loss somewhere in there just from an "off night" but that was happening when we had no injuries.

We aren't conceding anything. That means giving up. This team can win without KG, and they NEVER give up. On the other hand, the extent of Rondo's ankle has more bearing on our W's and L's right now. No Rondo, no HCA.

By the way how difficult is it to run the point in our system. Mikki Moore just slid right into the rotation while Steph looks lost. Doc puts alot of responsibility on the PG position.

Why do you say that?

The only team that is anything close to decent that the C's play before San Antonio is Miami (who they play twice).

If the C's win the games they should (even without Garnett, and even Rondo, they are better than Memphis, Milwaukee, and Chicago by a large margin), and can at least split the two games against Miami, they absolutely are still in the race.

Not to be the wet blanket, but I see us at about .500 for the rest of March.  There will be some "close losses", but we basically have 3 bigs: Powe, Perkins, Moore.  Allen and Pierce will be very overplayed, and hence not as effective, thanks to Doc's distrust of Walker and Giddens.  Marbury still hasn't shaken off the rust...

Possibly.  But the C's are certainly not conceding anything

I don't think they are giving up...just being realistic...more important to get everyone healthy than to have the Home Court Advantage.

BTW I think they are playing valiantly without KG, Rondo, etc...

The Cavs have an easier schedule and the Celtics are waiting until KG is 101%.  They realize his health is more important than the HCA.

They are playing tough though and this will benefit them in the playoffs.  Getting Mikki and Steph more run now...can't hurt.

How do you figure the Cavs have an easier schedule than us?

conceeded? huh? EVERY one of those games boston can win...boston gets KG back for the spurs (who they beat last year without) and in time for orlando and atlanta...i honestly don't see them losing any of those games until her returns..they beat denver, phoenix, jersey, cleveland without him...YOU HONESTLY THINK THEY WILL LOSE TO THE BUCKS OR BULLS? THE GRIZ? come on...what is more concerning is the fact baby and rondo are done for a week+

If you had told me that following the All Star break the Celtics would lose 4 of 9 games, including one to the Clippers, and two of those wins (Indiania, NJ) were by a whisker, I would have been shocked.

Now we haven't had KG for 9 of those games, nor Rondo for 1 of those games.  Going forward, we will be missing KG, Rondo and BBD for about 5 of the next 11 games.  We will be playing 2 back to backs next week.  Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have been playing way too many minutes, and chances are that won't change over the next few weeks.

I'd say the going is going to be tough for the next 3 weeks.  The bright spot in all of this is that at least Marbury and Mikki Moore will get some extended playing time.  I can only hope Doc will be reasonable and give Walker and Giddens some PT, at the expense of losing a game.

maybe you have to take 2 steps back to take 5 forward...still think if they can get everyone back by the spurs game they will be in good shape...i expect a split with the heat...and wins over the other 3 teams before SA

Sure, the C's should be able to go 4-1, or even 3-2 over these next 5 games.

The HCA sky keeps falling after every big loss.  :P Anything can happen over the next 5-6 weeks... and then anything can happen in the playoffs.
