Actually Cordobes I think what Steve W is saying, along with the rest of us, is that there's no consistency on how these games are being called.  I have no problem with the impeding progress (stiff arm) call against Leon, but call it that way EVERY game.  Now you think they would have called that in the same situation if the Spurs or Lakers where playing?

I see that type of play all the time on League Pass at the end of tight games and guess what?? .....no call

To clarify, cordobes and I are on the same page here, although I agree with part of the point you're making, xavier.  I'd love for the games to be called consistently, and even more so than game to game, it's the minute-to-minute stuff that annoys me.  A foul is a foul is a foul, be it in the first minute or the 48th.  The idea that that putting the whistles away and turning the game into a zoo in the final minute "lets the players decide it" is absurd.

That said, I've got zero problem with the call made on Leon at the end today, just as cordobes notes.

Ditto all the way across, including the consistency angle.

With that said, I still see Fisher holding onto Ray Allen's arm on the final possession in Boston.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Yep, that was a tad frustrating, wasn't it?   >:(

But as I would guess we agree, the right way to deal with that is to call both that foul and the one on Powe today - not to
swallow the whistles.

The refs called it even today. If you have very many complaints about the refs in today's game, then you've lost your credibility with regard to talking about the refs.

I thought the refs were terrible today and basically gave the Magic the game.

I was at the game. The refs had NOTHING to do with the Celtics losing today. I have not looked at the stats, bu tmy guess is the Celtics took more free throws. They also missed a bunch in the first half that would have helped.
