 Good grief.   ::)
It's not like he spit on the kid or something.

TP. He did nothing wrong. If he ignored him on purpose, good. Screw that kid and his jersey. :o ;D

The way I see it you're either a Celtics fan or your not.
Sure you can be a fan of another player and even own his jersey.
But if your a Celtics fan and that player is playing against the C's, that jersey should be hanging in your closet that day and you sure as hell shouldn't be wearing it to the game I don't care how old you are.

That kid just learned you can't have it both ways.

meh. That kid will hate paul pierce for the rest of his fandom though. I thought it was kinda funny, but the look on the kids face when pierce walks back through...like Ralphie after he shot his glasses off.

I'm pretty sure he said: "Hey, Paul Pierce!" twice.

I hated Michael Jordan.  He was the enemy, just like Kobe is the enemy.

i hated Jordan too  ...... because he was the enemy and because i grew so tired of all the slobbering by the media and fans - and the guy put up all his accomplishments in a watered-down league. not sure if that Bulls team would have won even one title if they had played in the 1980's.

I would have rather had Paul diss the guy standing next to the kid, who was most likely his front-running father.  I'm pretty sure the kid wasn't there by himself.

I would have given him a pierce jersey and made him give up the cavs jersey in return. Convert a fan for life and give him a great young story!

That kid is at least 7 years old if not older.  You really telling me a 7yr old doesn't know one team from another?
My sons followed particular teams from the time they were three.  They knew exactly who was who and they had their favorite players that they rooted for.
Funny story.  My youngest son when he was four asked if he could change his name.  It wasn't until he told me what he wanted to change it to that I understood why.  It just happened to be the name of his favorite college basketball player.

Let me also point out that in that video it clearly shows everyone standing and clapping for PP before he starts high fiving.  The guy standing next to the kid, who I agree is most likely the kids dad is clapping.  The kid never does.  Not before PP went past him the first time nor when PP made his way back.
I'm not sure why you would assume the Dad is a front-runner.

7 year old kids don't randomly decide that they're going to follow the Cavs, and buy themselves a Cavs jersey.  There's some outside influence there.

You have a higher opinion of the decision-making capacities of 7 year olds than I do.  I don't see a lot of second-graders making rational decisions about what team or player they want to follow (or rational decisions about much of anything, for that matter.)

Hilarious. I remember Pierce asking a kid at one of his summer camps and asked him how he could show up at a Celtics camp in a Cavs cap. Took it away and said he'd give it back when the camp was over.
I applaud Pierce for doing his best to educate the young ones ;D

You know what would have been awesome?

Remember the Knicks game last year, when we beat them by like sixty points?  Remember the Knicks fan in the crowd who stood up in the aisle, took off his jersey and flung it away as he walked out?

I would have loved to have seen that little kid rip off his BronBron jersey, throw it to the masses, then have PP give him a big high 5.  Eddie House gives the kid a chest-bump, BBD rubs his head for good luck, and we've got a new convert for life.

As it was - TOUGH LUCK, KID!

I was at that game... that was the best

First, I am not so sure he even did it on purpose. I hope he did because that is hilarious.

That's exactly my take on this.
