Only some strange anti-leon bias would conclude one to believe Powe's defense is "flat out terrible".. Powe holds his opponent to a 15.6 PER - much better then Davis 18.1. Powe also blocks more shots. Powe draws alot of charges as well.

I think his defense is going to hold him back a lot.  He's flat out terrible on the defensive end in my opinion.  Maybe some team will overpay him, but I really don't see him getting anything more then 4 mil a year.

Were you watching when Powe was the only one that could hold Dirk down a couple of weeks ago against the Mavs?  His man defense is very good.  He's still slow on rotations sometimes, but saying he's terrible on the defensive end isn't accurate at all.

Scal has also has had good defensive games against Dirk and Amar'e. Looking at a single game isn't a good way to judge a player. I do think Powe has improved as the season has progressed. I wonder how he will due once KG is back and his minutes are more limited.

I wasn't saying that Leon's a good defender solely because he contained Dirk, I was using it as an example.

Fair enough. I'm not a big fan of anecdotal evidence, especially on defense. Defense is all about the many rotations you make that often aren't noticed or remembered, the effort you put in boxing out, or preventing a player from establishing good position.
