The only two players I like on the team are Von Wafer and Battier, both show alot of hustle and talent when they play. Yao to me is overrated but not close to the level McGrady is.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

T-Mac is the obvious trade in this scenario as he is a finished article due to his injury prone career. If Houston can get 2 solid team players for T-Mac and maybe a 1st round pick too, they would be much better off.  Yao Ming is probably top 3 marketing figure in NBA which generates so much cash for Houston that it is ridiculous! Trading him will lower the value of Houston by 30% or more.

Yao is going nowhere for 2 reasons:
1. most important reason --$$$$$$.  He makes Houston way too much money from Marketing to even think of moving him.  $17 million a year for this guy may seem like a lot when compared to other superstar contracts but he brings in more money than just about anyone else.  He's a bargain for Houston when marketing $ is considered.
2. He's not that overrated.  Health issues?  absolutely.  Skilled big man.  Definitely.  When healthy he's one of the top few centers in a league with a severe lack of true centers, nevermind centers that can both score AND defend.  He can do both pretty well.  Keeping him on the court has always been the issue with him.

Mcgrady is the piece to move but he's not going to get them much-->always hurt, skills in decline, never won anything wherever he played, me-first attitude (by reputation).  He could help a 2nd tier team possibly push to contender status if he could stay healthy (possibly Utah--could use a go to crunch scorer on the wing) and buy into a team concept.

Yes I agree a very skilled big man. According to ESPN's rating system he's the most efficient center in the game for the 2009 season. Amazing what he has done in his first healthy season.

Mcgrady's expiring contract (if they choose to trade it) will be very valuable in these economic times, and it's a 2010 expiring; we all know about the players entering into free agency next summer. They could get more than you think.

The Rockets have shown no indication that they are open to trading Yao (who has two-years and $34 million remaining on his contract) or firing Adelman (who has one-year and a team option remaining on his original four-year deal). Yao is a cash cow for Houston, and the idea of dealing a 28-year-old franchise center would seem absurd. But several executives feel that the Rockets will see what the market is for Yao at the end of the season. "They would be crazy not to at least ask around," an Eastern Conference GM said.

interesting and worth discussion. The Houston front office would be crazy to deal Yao... Unless they got Ray Allen and Perk  ;)
And Clev would e crazy not to at least ask around about LeBron offers.

This is so speculative, I don't see why they even published it. Irresponsible journalism.
