Wade has no business near the MVP. Without riding Shaq's coattails, we see Wade for exactly what he is. He's good stats, good looks, and good personality. Tell me when he will win a championship without Shaq. Otherwise, why should I care and how is this guy relevant?
What's up with us Celtics fans hating on the guys around the league for no reason? This is why they hate us, not because we win. Dwyane has been nothing short of phenomenal and if he continues this he will be MVP. There's a very small chance that he will continue at this clip, but apparently he's all p---ed off about his divorce and is taking it out on the court.. So who knows.
When Shaq was in his prime, you could have paired any competent wings with him and watched the Lakers succeed. The notion that Shaq needed to have an elite level wing to win is an insult to his former dominance.
Any competent wing? Give some examples? are you talking Tony Allen quality or Ruben Patterson or Stacey Augmon or Travis Outlaw or wally Szerbiak or Ricky Davis? B/c imho you substitute Kobe for any of those guys and there's no way the Lakers even make the Finals and lose to Portland that first year and Sacramento the last one (should of lost to them anyways if it wasn't for the always honest NBA refs). A main reason Shaq finally won a ring is the emergence of Kobe as a star. Shaq couldn't do it alone. He needed a dominant guard.
I will agree with Kung Powe here, Shaq in his prime was good enough to win atleast 1 championship "alone". Very few guys you can say that about anymore. He and Michael are the only two relatively recent guys I can come up with that were capable of that.
