So hopefull we do make an offer to Smith and I would assume this means we are makeing an offer to Gooden(hopefully). I look at it this way , no news is good news and alot of times the team not mention gets the player.

Well, that link specifically says that Danny said the team *won't* make an offer.

Quote
Coach Doc Rivers claims that the team might still make an offer to Smith, but president Danny Ainge has said that he isn't an option.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
If we sign smith, who goes? Pruitt, walker or giddens.

Moore aint goin anywhere. It would be a horrible move to cut moore now. Smith, Gooden. Rick Pitino would tell us they are not coming through any doors..except the visitors lockerroom

Of those three I would have to choose Pruitt.  I like the kid, but there is still potential that Giddens and Walker are the long term replacements for Allen and Pierce.  With Marbury, and House if needed, Pruitt is the most expendable of the three listed.

Honestly, I don't know if we will sign either of them. I can only hope we sign one of them! I guess I would cut Pruitt, if it meant we where gonna have that much better of a chance to win 18 or would it be Giddens. I don't know and I am glad we do not have to make that decision.

Danny has also said thing in the past that he wasn't doing and after all was said and done he was doing it! Of course he's not gonna say he is not gonna offer, that would just run up the price. Maybe Cleveland or SA will not be offering as much money if they do not think others(Celtics) are in pursuit.

There's no way we sign either of these guys. We are all set down low and that was proven with the Moore signing. Neither of these guys could play for us in the playoffs anyway.

We most likely won't sign any more players. Like it or not, this is our roster for the rest of the season.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I think they could, by league rules, I don't know if they would.

What we really need is help at the 3, not at the 4/5.  So if we sign anyone else, I hope it is NOT smith or gooden.

I agree with you on one of your three points, the one being that they will not sign either of those guys. The two I dont agree with is that we are all set down low, and they wouldnt play for us in the playoffs.
How are we all set down low? Last time I checked KG and Scals were out, and Mikki Moore is a less lazy version of POB. That to me is nowhere near "all set". Also, these players would definitely play for us in the playoffs.

Smith just agreed to terms with Cleveland, according to Smith's agent.

So San Antonio gets Gooden, Cleveland gets Smith and we get Mikki Moore. Not one of Danny's better moments.

Well, arguably we did better than Phoenix getting Stromile Swift, right?  :P

What a surprise! ::)
This just isnt a big deal to me. The Cavaliers are not as deep or talented in terms of bigmen this year as they were last year in the playoffs. They added Hixson and lost Smith until now, then they traded away Gooden. If Wallace is injured or not 100% by the time the first round starts, then they will be desparate.

The much bigger danger to us (besides Lebron James)is going to be Mo Williams and how we match up with him. Mo can and will beat us if we dont defend him well. After Rajon Rondo, this is where we will miss Tony Allen most IMO.
