I'll believe it when I see Bill Walker last for more than two minutes in a competitive game.

He's been "getting it" for weeks now, but hasn't done anything about it.

You beat me to it.  He waited until Pierce publicly spoke about it.

Hell nahr, gun b happy if he catches a few balls and makes a few good moves. Dun care about the messups as long as we get to see if he *can* or can *not* perform with us.

Not me. I know that it's going to happen. I expect that it would get better as he keeps getting consistant minutes in some form or another. That's my only expectation from him in this regard.

Of course.

Doesn't matter.  They need to give Pierce and Ray more bench time.

Finally, I hope he gives the rooks some meaningful minutes. We'll never really now their potential or how good they can be if the never get meaningful minutes.

Good for Pierce for speaking up.  He really made a strong and specific case to give the young guys a chance and him some rest.  Doc of course has claimed he's going to do this, as others have noted, for weeks now.  But along with not actually doing so, Doc after the last game talked more about having his short veterans fill in against the tall wings into the future.

Thankfully Pierce spoke up yet again.  And, did you notice, he did so at the same time he gushed about how he'd want to retire rather than play for another coach after Doc.  You'd almost think he's been reading management books and decided to use the 'sandwich technique' of praise, correct, and praise again. Of course that approach has been debunked as too obviously manipulative if used regularly, so let's hope he got through to Doc this time around!

Even five minutes in the first half and just two at the end of a quarter can make a big difference in PP/Ray's ability to finish the game.

Price of keeping people ready for the playoffs.

I was thinking the same thing.  Pierce was saying, "I love you Doc, but get me some darn rest!" :)

Almost as important as rest, Doc needs to start developing someone to help be a Lebron stopper. I don't think Starbury, House, or Ray Allen can help Pierce with that job. It's going to half to be Walker or Giddens for right now. I guess we'll see Friday night.

Playing Walker and/or Giddens now would have nothing to do with getting them ready for the playoffs and everything to do with getting Pierce, Ray, etc. ready for the playoffs.  They need rest.  That's all it's about.  Walker and Giddens will not be playing in the playoffs.  And if TA, Scal and KG are all good for the playoffs, they will join Pruitt in street clothes.

There's an added bonus of getting these guys some experience to evaluate how they're progressing,  but it's all for the future, not the present.
