Does the fact that Smith hasn't been waived yet mean that he's in OKC for the duration? Wouldn't it take him too long to clear waivers to be released in time to switch teams for the playoffs?

I don't think he has to clear waivers by March 1.  Rather, I think it's that Smith has to be placed on waivers.  For instance, last year Sam Cassell didn't clear waivers until March 3, I believe.

am i the only one counting the seconds on this one?

for me, the difference between the Cavs with and without Joe Smith (especially after losing Ben) could be the difference between Home Court advantage at least through the ECF and maybe the difference between another Finals appearance and not...

I'll feel a lot better Monday if JS is still in OKC....

I'll feel better about the Mikki Moore signing if Joe Smith never comes on the market!

Smith would be huge for the Cavs if they could grab him.  Ben Wallace isn't nearly the player he one was, but it still hurts having him out.

yeah. it would be a two-for-one if JS doesn't get bought out. It keeps him from CLE and it makes picking up Mikki a lot better....

I think we will hear rumblings tomorrow if Smith is going to be released....
