According to NFL network (via WEEI), he is in Kansas City for a physical right now.  This is very interesting, and I would imagine is the precursor to a second move.  Julius Peppers??

I'm getting word from a source right now - this is apparently something big or a series of big moves - may involve Cassell

They just can't let the C's have the headline one day, huh?

Very exciting.

Draft pick in return, huh?  I'd assume its a second day pick.

Could be the combination of clearing cap space for extensions (Wilfork, Mankins, etc...) as well as accumulating bargaining chips for something else.

This move doesnt make sense to me.

Sure the cap space is nice, but Vrable was the ideal/typical patriot.

Unless he was looking for more cash, or unless there was something behind the scenes we dont know about, I dont understand moving him.

I like the move. I love Vrabel, but we desperately need some youth in the LB corps.

Tom Curran is on EEI and said that it was a 3rd.  I think this is part of a bigger picture.

The Celtics need youth at PF...but no one is advocating trading KG to get a pick that may become that.

It doesnt make sense...

It may be as simple as just trying to clear space.  They've got a lot more $$ tied into the QB spot than they would have anticipated 12 months ago, so they may have to make some other sacrifies.  I love Vrabel, he's a Patriot through and through, but he is getting a little long in the tooth.
