Yes. Absolutely.
No one in the league needs a change of scenery more than him. He's not THAT old, I believe he's got a bit left in the tank.
He's buddy-buddy with KG. Similar skillset, but he can defend the 5. 'Sheed's the first big off the bench, splitting time between backing up KG and backing up Perk. Another shooter when we need to spread the floor.
He won't get offered more than the MLE, not in this environment (economy sucks, shrinking caps/lux tax limits, everyone targetting 2010).
Detroit, I think is going to want to move in another direction, and they have young bigs like Maxiell that they like a lot.
'Sheed loves to win, and he's have a chance to be a real contributor for 25-30 minutes a game (keeping fresh for the playoffs) and a chance for another ring.
I don't think the C's are afraid of his intensity or his personality.
Great fit for us that I think is very do-able. He should be our priority, if we're looking to maximize the chance of winning in the next three years.
3 year, full MLE. I don't see anyone offering more.
EDIT: Detroit's not going to cut him. I'm thinking this summer. If they did, WHOA NELLIE!, that would be a gift from the Gods!
