Even if we sign Marbury, if Cassell is waived by the Kings can he come back here or are will at the maximum number of players allowed.

I think we're going to need Sam's leadership again this year and also for him to take Marbury under his wing and try to change him into a more selfless player.

Once we have signed Marbury we will have a full roster of 15 players. For Sam to come back we'd have to cut another player, or hire him as an assistant coach.

I don't think anyone is going to take Starbury under their wing at this point. He's a 33 year old man and largely is who he is.

We just need him to behave for 3 months.

I think if Sam does come back it will be in a coaching roll. I think his playing days are over.

Yes I think if Sam wants to be an assistant coach for the Celtics he could call Doc this morning and get the job. The question is, does Sam still want to be a player?

I hope he decides to coach, I think he'll be a great asset to the team.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
I think Sam will either end up in Denver as a player, or here as an assistant.

The likelihood of him coming back as a player is ZERO, but i hope he comes as a coach. Its seems that his teammates love being around him. Especially Rondo, his game is still elevating and Cassell can still teach somethings.

If Sammy ever became a coach, he'd lead the league in technical fouls. He would never stop getting on the officials back.

I agree.  Although I could see him going to a non-playoff team as a player, just because he loves to play...and then still end up on the C's bench for the playoffs.

He's officially been released by the Kings so I hope he comes back to coach. If not, good luck to him wherever he plays.

gimme Sam Cassell over Marbury for the playoffs any day of the week.

like he said in the interview, this team goes as far as Rondo goes, and I don't see how Stef can be any good at all for Rondo.
