I want to see a "we got Zach Randolph"-like interview based on the Big 3.

You've also got to consider what kind of role we are asking Marbury to play.  We aren't asking him to carry the team.  The Big 3 hierarchy is already in place.  Marbury is not the top dog coming into this team, he is a roleplayer asked to be a 6th man and 2nd PG.  If you ask me, this takes a lot of pressure OFF Marbury's shoulders, and might allow him to play even better than when he was expected to carry a team.

He's got all the talent that you'd want in a baller, he just has to be on good behavior.  When you are winning games, things tend to go smoothly.  He's not being thrown onto a losing team and asked to 'save' the team.  He just needs to play his role.  I think Marbury can do that much.  If he just learns his role and sticks to it, by the end of the season, I bet he will soon become a fan favorite.

That interview never gets old.  Every time I see it it's a highlight in my day.  I just searched for it on Youtube but couldn't find the whole thing, though this might be even funnier:

I mentioned this as a joke when the initial "Marbury to the Celtics" rumors started, but now since he'll be out for a little bit, I think it's doable.  I want to see Scal do a spoof of that video and subsitute Marbury's name in for Zach Randolph.

Of course, if this whole experiment fails and the Celtics don't win it again this year, the video would become painful irony.  But if they do win it, it will just be another youtube classic.  ;D

How about the Big 3 doing one based on getting Marbury?

"We got Marbury"! ;D

So are you guys actually excited to get a shoot first PG on your team?  A guy who couldn't co-exist with KG in the past?  A guy who has never been able to play team ball?  A guy who has been a loser everywhere he has played?

How did Rondo react last year when Sam was brought in?

I'm excited about this because KG, Paul, Ray and Rajon have all said they want him here. If he is good enough for them, he is good enough for me.

Marbury isn't good enough to be the top dog on a contender. But he's got enough talent to be a 6th man. Lots of talented players struggle to win on mediocre teams. Was Pierce a "looser" before KG arrived?

It is a bit silly to compare Pierce and Marbury.  Marbury doesn't have near the talent Pierce has.

Marbury has never been able to accept a 6th man role, I would be surprised if he does now

Maybe I'm a homer, but I think Marbury is finally going to be a good teammate in Boston, and that Rondo has played so well and is now so confident that a veteran point guard won't affect him at all.

And again, if there is some sort of problem with Marbury, we can cut him without much of a cost.

Oh I know i went over the top with the Pierce example. My point was that his teams weren't that good and he isn't good enough to be the #1 option on a team. (Pierce was never good enough to carry a team to the promised land either). Marbury was probably always best suited as a 2nd or 3rd best player on a team.

Marbury has never been asked to be a 6th man on a legit title contender before. Heck, he is the one who was vocally pushing to join the Celtics bench for months now.

And again, my main point which was in bold is that the 3 stars plus rondo want this guy on the team. They know him far better than any of us.

Finally to add on. He costs the celtics practically nothing. If he doesn't fit, they'll cut him, and still have the same roster that has a 46-12 record.

I think that this well be a great boost for the team.
I think Starbury will be good behavior wise. (He NEEDS to show the NBA that he can play without any issues, or there's no chance of him signing anywhere next year; plus, i think deep down he really wants a ring).

He can play well at the point, and even the 2 since he has such great strength for being 6'2.

And if anything this will pump Rondo's intensity even higher, partly due to a confidence boost of starting ahead of marbury, and when he's on the floor he'll want to show that thats a RIGHT decision.

If Marbury fills the role he needs to fill for 15-20 mpg, I think that we will have one of the better 6th men in the league, and the Celtics will fill all the holes that they have left to fix. *knocks on wood*
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

Wishful thinking while the Cavs stand pat.   ;D
