It's clear that both Giddens and Walker would be an absolute embarrassment if Doc were to give them 5 minutes or so per game.  :P

Clearly.  What did Walker even do, 2pts, 1 rebound, and a steal in 2 minutes?  Come on.

Seriously though, Billy looks good.  I don't see why we can't give him 5-10minutes a game to spell PP.  Especially tomorrow on the second night of a back to back when PP played 45mins.

ALL HAIL RONDO!

Whoever on here said last year that Marc Jackson always sounds like he is auditioning for a coaching job is absolutely right. Ever since hearing that I've noticed more and more that he is always trying to say "the right things". Anyways, great game, was hoping Rondo would get 40 but oh well. 32-10 is nothing to sneeze at.

So will Scal be our only real backup to Pierce going into the playoffs? excepting for a trade?

And it would seem that Danny agrees with you. During his weekly WEEI interview he stated that he thought Giddens, in particular, is ready to play some minutes right now "if given a chance".

Good win, everyone that needed to step up without KG did in a big way.

How could Nash have won 2 MVP awards?  That's like a DH in baseball winning back to back MVPs, the guy is absolutely useless on the defensive end.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Birthday-boy Rondo was great -- love to see him hitting that jumper, especially on the road -- and also good to see Ray shoot well.  Ray seemed off during the All-Star game and at Utah.  And this may have been the closest we've seen recently to both Baby and Leon playing well in the same game (although Leon's gotta make those free throws).

Congrats to JR for finally logging some NBA minutes (or at least, seconds)!

Next up, Denver has to be one of the toughest places to play the second game of a back-to-back; that game will be a good test.

Doc needs to get a real look at Giddens and Walker tommorrow night in Denver. Theres no way he can expect Paul and Ray to play those kind of minutes on back to back nights on a trip out West at this point in the season. Pierce played 44 minutes and Ray played 40. Tomorrow night we play the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West right now and Doc played the Big 2 way too long.

This team needs some athletic play from the wings and Giddens and Walker fit the bill. Both of them are sitting on the bench waiting for Doc to give them a chance. They could bring a lot of energy off the bench for us. They just need the chance to prove themselves.

Yeah I agree with everyone, at least one of those two young guys has to play double digit minutes tomorrow night.  Pierce and Allen played big minutes and big numbers today.

I think Doc could've managed the minutes a little better down the stretch.  I understand how fast the Suns can strike back but we had the game well under control.  I don't know why Rondo had to come in, and when he did i think it should've been for Ray or Paul.  I thought we could've taken the risk of them climbing back in the game and then bringing our starters back in, we still would've won.  Didn't seem that Doc was looking towards tomorrow at all.

Talk about pre-mature.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I'm calling a good game from Rondo right now.

Blow them out for Walker & Giddens!

Prophecy of the day fulfilled. :P

Doc wasted some valuable garbage time, burning out the starters.

This was Scals first game back after two concussions. He was a few steps behind in the rotations at first but he seemed to do just fine as he shook the rust off.

Everytime I see Rondo get better, I am reminded of draft night, when Dickie V predicted that he (Rondo) would be a disaster as PG in the NBA because he pounded the ball in the floor too much.

Nice call, Dickie V.

An example of a guy who obvioulsy got into the HOF not on the basis of his bball IQ.
