The weirdest thing about this injury is every time I look at the video, I just do not see anything happening. He jumped up and then he lands on one foot and car hadly walk on the other. So it happened on the push off to jump, but when you look at that you also see nothing. Bizarre.

or it could have happened a couple steps even before that.

Normally I'm the kinda guy who never wishes injuries on players, never laughs at another players injury or teams misfortune. If KG is out for a long time, it would be [dang] near heart-breaking and I expect that to change.

Sometimes bad injuries happen like that. I was once playing tennis and while not moving on the court, my right leg gave out on me, I fell to the ground and broke my ankle. My first really bad injury in my life happened when I was not even running or moving.

KG has also been playing with something wrong for awhile now, so it might have been the tipping point and something just finally gave up.

I hear you. The worst part of this is the waiting. The waiting to find out what the deal is.

Apparently the little smiley face didn't get the point across that it was a joke.

No one ever wants to see major injuries.  But, KG missing some time will give him some time to rest and also give the Celtics time bring in a big man (Joe Smith) and work him into the system while KG heals.

Fixed.

I agree that Smith would be much better for the Celtics, but there is no guarantee that he gets cut.  Then if he is cut, he has to agree to take less money from the Celtics than what the Cavs would offer him.

What's the feeling with the Cavs?  Do you think they'll offer more money to Smith?  If you guys are healthy, Smith is definitely not as big a help for you guys, as you have Z, Varejeo and Big Ben.

I think PJ Brown laid out a blueprint for veteran big men after him.  Joe Smith can probably see his roll on this team would be significant, but within his abilities at this point in his career.  Here he can play a crucial role in a championship team, he'd be sharing backup mins with Wallace/Varajao on Cleveland wouldn't he?

P.S. Cavs have been great all year, but the Cs are still the favorite out the East if injuries don't hinder it.  One of the perks that come with the brand new rings  8)

The feeling is that the only reliabe offensive big they have is Z and they would like to add another big who can score.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Just heard on wEEI that KG will miss the rest of the road trip (5 games). Hopefully won't be longer than that.  I haven't heard a diagnosis.

There's only 3 games left on the road trip.

feels like 5...

Hey, Mikki Moore shot 60% from the field a couple years ago.  Go after him.  ;)

I have a bad feeling that it is his meniscus cause you could see his knee go out to the side just a tad. I just have a bad feeling it is. But hopefully that is it cause it can be fixed a rehabbed before other knee injuries

My friend just told me Marc Stein reported it was 4 weeks but this is obviously not a super reliable source.

If this is the case though it is right in the middle of what it could be, at best it was a few games and at worst the rest of this season was just preseason games for next year.

Stephen A Smith said it was a 1-4 week injury...this is what he was told from people inside the Celtics. said the team doesn't care about seeding and just want KG to be as close to 100 percent for the playoffs. said they are prepared for him to sit out as long as it takes before the playoffs.

so...Danny...go get joe smith and bobby jackson and lets go
