Oh no!  Cavs are said to be interested in adding Posey.  IMO, this would be worst case scenario for the Cs.

Anyone else getting anxious to see the deadline pass without the Cavs making a major move.  I'd consider the deadline a success if Cavs don't add anyone of great significance even if Cs don't make a move.

Well said, I agree. Although this move would hinder The Cavs down the road...

What's even scarier is the idea that they bring in Posey for Eric snow and Marcus Camby or another big man with Wallys expiring... And they have Wallace expiring next year... >:(

Compared to the caliber of players they were looking at getting for Wally's or Snow's contract this would be the least of my worries. Also if they trade one of their bigs for posey I don't think that is a net plus for matching up with us. Their 3 front court players combine to give us trouble inside since we have to shade LeBron so much.

I don't see how Posey is better than Wally. Posey has become one of the most overrated players in quite some time.

The Cavs don't need any scorers.  They need glue guys.   Posey is the one of the best, if not the best, glue guy in the league.  Also, do you really think that Posey wilts in the spotlight of Game 7 like Wally did last year.  I doubt it.

The acquisition of Posey also frees up Lebron on defense as he no longer would have the chore of expending energy chasing Pierce around on defense.  Posey is a huge plus over Wally for the Cavs in my opinion.

Id rather they get Posey than Jamison, Butler, Camby, Jefferson and the numerous other players in rumours out there.. Posey is a good role player, nothing else and he has looked like garbage for over a month

The cavs need glue guys? i tend to disagree, they have Lebron james who is a good leader in the locker room and then nothing but glue guys

The Cavs are not getting any of those players with possibly the exception of Jefferson and he is probably going to end up in Portland.

As for the glue guys, the Cavs have plenty of scoring in Lebron, Williams and Big Z.  Who is there lock-down defender?  Lebron?  Lebron not having to guard Pierce on defense is huge.  Even Lebron said at the conclusion of last year's series that he wore himself down chasing Pierce around.

Posey cant lock down Paul Pierce, not to mention this trade just isnt happeneing, and if it does, its better than all the other rumours out there, I think a trade for posey would actually make the cavs worse short and long term.
It doesnt say anywhere in that link the hornets would give him up just for wally, they want a a good big

I agree that Posey has become 'overrated' but he would be more valuable to them then Wally.  Posey's defense makes him better...

think about it, in a matchup v. us, they could stick Posey on pierce and not need Lebron to get tired defending him.

It makes it better for Lebron, it also makes it easier on Pierce, who imo can score on Posey at will..

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
If they got Posey that'd be a long 7 game series for someone like Ray. He'd bother Pierce a bit, but he'd do no better than someone like Tayshuan Prince or Ron Artest. He'd allow Lebron to worry less about the other teams best players, on the wing. It would hurt to see Posey making big plays against us in the play-offs. Hope this doesn't go down.

The players have been almost identical from an offensive end this season, but Posey is a much better and more physical defender.  He's also a better locker room guy (although I haven't heard of any problems in the locker room with Wally in Cleveland).

Which is why it'd be silly to trade for him. They could have signed him for the current contract if they thought he was that valuable. I really think they'll either trade Wally for more of an impact player or stand pat. Why spend so much money when Posey isn't a huge upgrade?
