this game is really underwhelming...

Really? I kinda like it. In past years it was all dunks with no defense and this year we have actually seen guys trying to play defense and at least challenging shots at the rim. Plus, our guy is the leading scorer right now :) It would take about 40 from Pierce for the MVP award though.

you're right there is a bit more D than previous years. I remember last year was just running the floor. Things were super sloppy at the end of the second but it's picked up again now. Here's hoping for a tight and entertaining second half!

I agree, this game is actually competitive.

I know it's nearly impossible, but it would be great if Pierce won MVP.

They could use his scoring in there apparently

What did he take 1 shot that whole quarter?

That's just not right.

Hopefully Amare will be coming to the East in a few days and they'll have another big man for next year's game.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
so a prerequisite to being selected on the all-star team is that you have to know how to dance?  ::)

Counts me out. :-[

me too.

could you imagine larry, kevin and the chief acting so foolish?

God forbid people have fun.

i suppose our idea of how a professional athlete should act are on very different ends of the spectrum...guess i'm just getting older.  ;)

The east lost because they were playing like the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The West won because they used their superior size, and dominated inside.

I hope Shaq wins MVP.

...and yes this all-star weekend completely sucked.

Cavs had to have Mo there. They got their wish with predicted results. You do not replace a PF with a PG if an injury occurs.

worst all star weekend ever?

yeah.. tp

it was painful to watch mo williams over dribbling and chucking up shot after shot

it seems mike brown has no intention of winning at all. he just wants to showcase the cavs  ::) very lethargic game. i wouldve put kg and pp together and try to win it than try to give in to williams and try to get joe johnson to score a single point

I just came up with my new motto for the NBA & All Star Weekend

The NBA: "Where No Shame Happens" AL STAR WEEKEND

The parting of the red sea for freestyle dunks at the end of the game was pretty gross.

The weekend was horrendous through and through(although the rookie/soph game seemed moderately interesting - too bad I missed that one)
Yup

I don't know how I missed this and maybe it has already been mentioned on this site (if it has, sorry for being behind the times), but why wasn't Doc coaching the East?  I thought it was the two finals coaches.  Phil was for the West, but why was Brown coaching the East?
