A player who's an ideal roll model for both other point guards in the league, as well as the up and coming ones. A roll model because he's a team-first kind of guy always looking for the right pass -- even if it often comes with a splash of flamboyancy, imagine the funk he'd pull off in an all star game.

For a player who had a major roll in winning a championship thrown in with 42 wins this season so far, a player who's work ethic is very often through the roof. For him not to be involved in the all-star weekend is shocking! I mean not even the skills challenge? He's built for that event.

I catch myself scratching my end at the idea that coaches in the league would take Nelson over Rondo. For real?

P.s He's number 2 in assists

Just have him cross up Jason Kidd, that worked pretty well last night.

That's what would concern me, all his hard work and the respect he does get around the league, would be gone. He would become a joke, and everyone would think of him as someone that really couldn't hit a J, even more than they do now.

except for the fact that he's shootign the set 20 footer pretty good over the last few weeks. He hit two huge jumpers last night. Thats alot more pressure than taking them in a glorified shootaround.

Hasen't all the first hand reports (mine included) that he shoots really well in the shootaround pregame, and its as much a mental issue with confidence as it is mechanical?

Only with the shot clock running out and someone hanging all over him. Put him out there alone wide open from 20 feet and he is likely to miss 4-5 before he hit one. It's not his rushed pressure jumpers that are an issue. It is the ones that teams are giving him from 18 feet that he won't take that he needs to be better at. If he doesn't shoot 500 of those a day in the offseason we should fine him for conduct detrimental to the team. If he will do that for a couple years he could be unstoppable.

Hey, it's not just the coaches. Even here on cb, among people who watch every game, Rondo doesn't get a whole lot of respect. Just a few weeks ago there was some kind of list or ranking here of NBA pgs, and lots of cbloggers ranked Rondo way down around tenth or even lower.
Now THAT was ludicrous. Other than Paul and Williams, who's better? No one IMO.
And who really cares about the All-Star game. Rondo may always be one of those DJ type players who's underrated but whose team always wins.

Do they have players in the skills event who aren't in other events already.
