I'm not talking trash... just stating my observation.

Thanks for the input - I appreciate hearing opinions from your side of the country.

For those that don't realize the Lakers have stepped up this year in talent and toughness, you'll have another thing coming.  41-9 should say a lot... but ignore it at your own peril.

Like I said, we want a rematch and if we lose I am jumping off a building (added benefit to this board, no more posts from me)

I hate you guys.

Peace,
DF

How's that even possible? Last season they were already better than the 80's Lakers and one of the best teams in the history of the game!!

In my book talking trash means purposely saying anything just to get a rise out of someone.  I'm looking for honest input.  And I'm making points such as the Celtics may have a strategic weakness due to their "air" of haughtiness.

Better than Shaq/Kobe and equal to Showtime.

I know its hard to digest/belive.  Its one of those things that you'll believe it next year in hindsight but it hasn't hit you yet.  I know it sounds overconfident/cocky... I'm trying to just get the word out in advance that this team is something really, really, really special.

Just a question, Discoflux: have you already understood you were grossly overrating last season Lakers team? I'm still waiting to be hit by that really, really, really special team...

I was overrating them a tad.  Bynum going down really hurt us.  Our defensive softness hurt us.  I didn't see that coming.  Showtime was better for sure.

This year we are a big step up from last year.  Bynum, Ariza, Powell plus Pau all stepping up and making us tougher this year.

I think I am right about this team, but jumped the gun last year with it.  Over the next 5 years i think we'll make a huge Dynasty statement.

OK, this is a warning for everyone.  Keep it on topic, and keep the debate civil.  Just because someone is not a Celtics fan does not make them a troll.  And nothing gives you the right to attack them.

Oh, but you knew Bynum wasn't playing when you wrote that. In fact, you were talking about the team without Bynum. Yet, you believed the C's chances of winning the title were merely academical and that the Lakers team was among the best ever in the history of the game. You do understand how pathetic has your basketball evaluating skills proved to be and why nobody can take your extremely homeristic perspective seriously, right?

I respect the Celtics but I have a few issues.  Last year they were the hardest working team in the NBA.  This year they are so [dang] SMUG.

The team has a certain 'cult of personality' that comes from a. KG and b. winning the title last year.

KG, Pierce, Allen and FRICKIN RONDO have this face they put on.  So smug is all I can describe it as.  They act like they deserve every call.  If they get beat and scored on they act like it doesn't faze them when you know it does.

Hater, your a fan for another team that hates cuz we are good, been there. Learn something will you

KG refuses to allow a shot after a whistle by blocking everything just to make a point.  That is fine with me, whatever, make your statement... but then he shoots after the whistle on the other end.

The Celtics grab, push, and hold on screens more than any team I have ever seen since the 80's.  And RARELY get called for it.  They elbow kidneys, do every low blow cheap move in the book.  This can be effective, but getting away with it sucks when other teams suffer foul calls for it.

Other than that I appreciate the way the Celtics play their game, with heart and passion.  I just wondered if you guys see the team as too [dang] smug and if you see all the cheap shots during the game.

I think this Lakers team is one of the best I've ever seen.  They didn't quite gel last year and I jumped the gun.  But the same pieces plus 2 new faces and one extra year of experience I think we're very close to best ever.  I was premature last year with it, but yet... I think this team will prove to be one of the best teams ever.  Kobe-Pau-Bynum-Odom is an amazing core, and the role players are all doing their jobs very well.  So yeah, I was pemature last year with the declaration, but I do think we're on the brink of historic greatness.

I felt the same way watching Dino Radja. Then again, I was ten.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
