I care in the sense that i feel cheated out of the brett cry fest, those are always a treat to watch.

Hopefully he decides to give his 5th farewell speech.

rip on guy all you want, but brady couldnt carry his jock during his prime. What I see on this board about favre reaks of jealous. Overrated comments speak of ignorance. Look at the states and what he has done. Yes he threw a lot of pics, but he also has made up for  that in a lot of other areas. At least he doesnt have an asterisk next to his sb win

Is it just me or are we seeing a lot of 'trollish' comments lately?

why Brady (Who is regarded by all, pats fans or not) as one of the best QB's ever, needs to be compared to Brett is silly.  But while we are talking about the two, I would take Brady and his career over Favre and his career.  sorry, last I checked 3 was better then 1.

Brett was good.  He also was way too much of a gunslinger the last few years.  Sure he may put up a lot of yards and points, but all of the interceptions hurt his teams.  Brett was 'over rated'  sorry.

EDIT: statistical evidence for why I say Brady over Favre:

Brett Favre
In 271 games played he:
Completed 5,682 of 9,209 passes. (61.7%)
Threw for 64,707 yards (238.77 per game)
463 touchdowns (1.71 per game)
305 interceptions (1.13 per game)
1 championship
85.7 passer rating.

Tom Brady
In 113 games played he:
Completed 2,301 of 3,653 passes (63%)
Threw for 26,446 yards (234.04 per game)
197 touchdowns (1.74 per game)
86 interceptions (0.76 per game)
3 championships
92.9 passer rating

(All statistics are current as of 12/15/2008

Yes, Favre has played in more then twice the number of games.  but sorry, the numbers dont suggest that he is better.

Im not a troll, as you can see from the number of comments I have made to this site. But I am a gb fan. I live and die bye the celts, but its tiring when I see haters try to detract this guy's accomplishments. The plays things he has done on the field are only done in the dreams of many qbs around the league. If we would have had better coaching since holmgren, he would have had at least one more ring. It amazes me how arrogant pats fans are about their team. You have great players, but without Billy, this franchise does 0

Please, put your obvious bias against the Pats aside (asterisk talk illustrates that), and tell me you could make that comment with a straight face.  Fact is, you can't.

Favre in his prime (mid-late '90s) was a great quarterback but Brady, when all is said and done, is going to go down as the better quarterback in a lot of people's eyes.  3 Super Bowl rings (and possibly more), 50 TDs in a single season, remarkable TD-INT ratio, the winning percentage, etc....   An extremely strong resume.

I didnt call you a troll, just a trollish comment.  But you are of course entitled to your opinion that Favre is a solid QB, but the trollish aspect came when you attempted to lower Brady.

As a GB fan, I am not surprised that you think Favre is the greatest thing.  It is common.  but as I mentioned in my edit, It is my belief the stats show that Brady has been better.

Without Brady the team likely doesnt win either...what came first, the chicken or the egg?

I think the problem a lot of people have of Favre isn't based on his accomplishments.  It was his constant fawning by the national media and the constant deflections of criticism away from him in the later days when it was apparent to a lot of football fans that his skills were diminishing and he was hurting his teams as much as he was helping him.  The deification by the John Maddens and Peter Kings of the world rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.  Add to that, the constant "Will he or won't he retire?" talk and the attention it garnered.  His retirement and cermonious unretirement didn't help matters either.

This isn't meant as a dimishment of his on the field accomplishments, its just that I didn't buy into the whole "Brett Favre is God" act the media was preaching when it was clear Brett's best days were behind him.

All is said and done, angryguy77.  Brady is far better on the field. But Brady is especially better off the field....Where he shows humility and a fierce allegiance to his organization.  Instead of the pathetic narcissist who spent the last 4-5 seasons holding his team hostage while shamelessly posturing for the press.

There's no denying that Farve has put himself ahead, way ahead of the team.

he should be allowed to sign a one day contract with the packers and retire with them.

i'm not a favre fan, but i respect him a lot.  he's a warrior and a gamer, and it was fun to watch him player.

but that might hinder his next attempt to play again.

whether he retires with them or not, he will always be known as a packer.  Those fans will always love him.  The Jets, not so much.
