Who's the ref that made the gutsy call. We need him. NOW.

MMOH is usually pretty rational I would love his thoughts on how that went down.

I actually didn't get to see the game last night (I was playing basketball), but I have seen the replay and the highlights.  Neither foul should have been called.  Honestly, Granger initiated the contact on both plays, but the foul he committed on Lebron was very negligible at best (Lebron catches the ball if it is a better pass), and the 'foul' Lebron committed wasn't a foul at all.  Lebron had position and Granger jumped into him.

It was definitely a make up call, but I don't have an issue with it.  The first foul should not have been called.

The reason the Cavs lost last night:  They hoisted up more than 20 3's.  That is way too many in a game.  Their tough defense is also not there right now

The Cavs have been complaining about the refs an awful lot recently and it is getting to me.  You can tell they are frustrated and I think things will turn around once everyone is healthy (if that ever happens).

ball game...thank you pacers...now they can enjoy the laker hangover...you should hear the Cavs TV channel up here making excuses and saying they were robbed....love it

Yes, almight Lebron never commits fouls.  ::)

according to the cavs play by play team he does not. makes me want to puke

Just like the Boston play callers think KG never fouls, just like the Lakers callers think Kobe never fouls.

EVERY home announcer is this way.

I dunno, I think if that sequence happened to us Tommy would grumble a bit but Mike would probably concede that it was basically the same play as on the other end.  Let's hope we don't find out though...

Tommy would have hit the ref who called the foul for lebron with a steel folding chair as he ran by if that had been paul.

The poster is right, every broadcast is subjective and is convinced thier team is getting screwed lol.

let me preface this by saying both calls were awful. no call should have been made for lebron in the first place, pacers win without the drama. that said, this is hillrious by mike brown.

Quote
That last call, on the run, is the worst call that I have ever been a part of," Brown said. "I cannot imagine another worse call than that. It was an awful call and for him to take away a basketball game from a team with .4 seconds on the clock is irresponsible...

"I don't care if I get fined. It is what it is. I saw the two plays; just a bad call determined the outcome of that game. If they want to fine me for telling the truth, fine me. This isn't me. I never do this....

the best part is the last paragraph. you do this ALL THE TIME mike brown. every single time there is  a call mike brown doesn't agree with, he tells anyone who will listen about it. Which is fine, its his job to do that so his players dopnt have to, nothing wrong with it at all, but don't Lie to the people mike. you do this every single time.

here's the full write up, comments are hillarious.

Ever hear of this guy named Joey Crawford? He's had a few controversial things happen in his career.

He complains just as much as any coach who disagrees with a call that goes against his team (Phil, Doc, Van Gundy, Obrien, yadda yadda yadda).  He's referring to complaining after the game to the media, which he never does.

The Cavs were furious with the no-call, fled the court in anger and prepared to meet the media after going down 2-0. The coaches and players were irate, ready to rip the officials for failing to call a foul on the play and costing Cleveland the game.

Instead, general manager Danny Ferry and his assistant Lance Blanks took control of the situation, demanding from everyone that no excuses would be made. Hence, the quote from both Mike Brown and LeBron James: "We're a no-excuses team."

The Cavaliers gained strength from that moment. The message delivered to the press was as much meant for Cleveland's players as anyone. Refusing to blame the officials meant showing no signs of weakness. It meant building strength rather than allowing an internal excuse. By Game 3, the Cavs were unified, strong and ready to take on Detroit. That's when everything turned.

All you can ask from the refs at this point (because they are so bad)  is to call things both way and they did in this situation.

He's one of the biggest, and given the refereeing bias towards his player (team), most inexplicable whiners in the league.

EVERY coach complains in-game.  He very rarely complains outside of the game, which is what he was saying during his interview.

EVERY team complains in-game.  Boston has 3 guys in the top 35 for technical fouls called this year ( http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/statistics?stat=nbafouls&league=nba&sort=techs&order=true&season=2009 )

The Pacers inconsistency must be driving their fans crazy. I know the Bucks are playing well this season but what's the point in beating the top teams only to fall to borderline 8th seeds.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Everyone complains, but not with the fervor and lack of a basis Mike Brown does.

There is no coach in the league who has a team get calls like his.  Not even smirking scumbag Phil Jackson.

He loses his lunch over travelling calls when Lebron takes 5 steps, or offensive fouls where he stiffarms a guy.  I live in Clevelands TV demographic... I've seen him get ejected for calls that I didn't even need a video replay (which came later) to obviously know were fine.
