" Can you give me your paypal address"

Not even sure what this means...

PayPal is an online payment system owned by eBay.  If you have an account you can transfer money from your account to anyone else with an account.  Your PayPal address is simply the email address you have associated with the account.

There's a lot of fraud emails about PayPal so be wary and don't ever give out your email address to anyone unless you know specifically who they are and what they want it for.
Yup

I think they mean the email account that you use for paypal transactions.

Paypal is an online way of sending money, where people can pay you via credit card or money transfer, and (for a fee) the money is placed into your account.  It's most often used with ebay, but more and more retailers are using it.

Right... I've had paypal for 5 years hooked into my Ebay account...

I'm buying sneakers for my wedding ushers in bulk.... (yes we're all wearing sneakers instead of shoes). so I worked a deal with an Ebay sneaker seller... He asked for my paypal address and I wasn't sure what the heck he meant.

Yeah, it's either the email address with your account, or he could mean your "verified address" via paypal.  My guess would be the email, though.

No idea.  I think Redz can answer this question better, but I think that ebay sellers are only protected for certain transactions if they send to a verified address.  That could be his concern.

not sure, I'm buying 9 pairs of sneakers off of him... I told him to put them all together as "BUY NOW". I hope he's not thinking I'm doing this without Ebay protecting me...

Hmm... maybe he wants to verify I'm on paypal before he creates a invoice through ebay? that way he knows I'm for real?

That would be my guess.  So long as you do the transaction via paypal, you're good.

Roy, and avoid Ebay all together? Wouldn't that put me in jeopardy of getting ripped off?

Redz, Hypothetical:

I buy something off of you using just paypal and you never send me the product... What happens?

Supposedly PayPal has a guarantee on every sale (no different than being covered when you use a credit card).  I've never had to go through the process, but there is a claims process.  It might end being more of a pain in the butt than it's worth to go through the process (PayPal's customer service has not been the greatest in my experience), but there is a system.

Here are there policies etc..
