Bad referereeing used to be my biggest pet peeves with the NBA. I have since concluded that there is very little that can be done about it, except to train more refs, pay them more to attract better quality refs. The game moves so fast, and there are so many non-calls, until a ref suddenly decides to enforce something. Remember 2 seasons ago when they decided to call anything that looked close to a carry, or slap on a T on a player if he so much as raised his eye brow following a call? How long did that last. Instant replay does not work in the NBA except in very limited circumstances (such as, 3 point line, or 24 second violation) because it would kill the momentum of the game, which is one of its biggest assets. Some refs are just better than others. Train more good refs. It will never be perfect, but it can get better.
