Isn't it ironic that everytime Stern comes to Boston to watch a game, and his name is announced he gets booed. Then for some strange reason when the Celtics go up against some of the best teams in basketball alot of the foul calls go against the Celtics.I watch all the Celtic games from beginning to end and alot of times it is 7-5 on the court. When the flow of the game is allowed by the officials the celtics usually wipe the floor with their opponent. Remember Game 6 of the championship series in 2008. But it really seems this season that the officiating has turned against the men in green. there have been too many complaints against the officials this season by the Celtics, and I think alot of those complaints are justified. I feel that when KG was given his 6th foul that really evened up the game for the Lakers who were playing without Bynum.I also thought that Doc Rivers should have played Eddie House more down the stretch. No doubt about it the NBA has it in for the Celtics.

my dad is in his 70's. he is always telling me how a lot of the refs grew up hating the c's because of our past domination. he thinks it's crazy that people don't see this.

Well I don't know about the other two guys but Leon Wood is a west coast guy and blatantly goes out of his way to give the Lakers the benefit of the doubt in every game he refs for them. It really is disgusting. Oh and guess what, a b8unch of those really bad calls last night was by none other than.....Leon Wood. Huge surprise!!

I always felt Stern was a Knicks fan, maybe it was because of the Ewing draft.
Call me a sap, but I love my kids more than anything!

As much as I hate Stern... I'll pass on giving him so much heat for the time being solely because he has chosen Ray, deservedly so, for the All-Star game.

TP, I still despise that guy. Its obvious by the refs call games the NBA is rigged.

Which is why they San Antonio Spurs, one of the weakest draws in the entire league, have won 4 of the last 8 titles.

Why the Boston Celtics, one of the most popular and visible franchises in the NBA (in sports, period) walked into draft night '07 with the 2nd-best chance for the top pick, and ended up with the 5th.

Why the Phoenix Suns, the most aesthetically-pleasing team in basketball, were allowed to be dismantled over the past season, after being victimized time and again in the playoffs by officiating that was spotty at best.

Why a Lakers squad with Bryant, Shaq, Payton and Malone lost the NBA Finals in 5 to a group of then-unknowns from Detroit, who played an unappealing brand of defensive basketball.

The NBA's definitely rigged. Right, guys?

... Oh wait.

I watch all the Celtic games from beginning to end and alot of times it is 7-5 on the court.
Just to note, I think you mean 8-on-5?

Or is 1 ref always impartial while the other 2 suck?

It's always the refs fault when the celtics lose, right?  Any excuse to try and justify a loss, right?  Oh, there definately is a pact between stern and the lakers, even though stern is from new york, huh!

And when the Lakers lose it is because of Bynum huh? Don't act as if the Lakers fans don't try to justify losses considering what happened during the finals. Give me a break Lakers troll.

The thing is Bynum IS a difference maker if he is the lineup.  The lakers fans believed they could have won the finals if he was in the lineup, which is a very reasonable arguement.  However, an insane and frankly bitter arguement is constantly whining about the refs CAUSING losses for the celtics.  I read a number of fans on this forum blaming the refs for the celtics loss to the lakers in la...and surprise they do it yet again.  Sure, fans are biased and like to blame the ref in some losses, but from skimming game threads you guys point the finger more than any other sports team forum that ive run across.  Even more hilarious is that you believe it's a conspiracy with the nba commissioner stern.  Are you really serious?  That has to be a joke bro.  Does it hurt THAT much?

Good post, Hal. I, for one, am not blaming the
refs. I know a lot of others here that are not,
as well. As for being a differencemaker, I think
Pau Gasol is the real differencemaker on the
Lakers. His game gives them so much more in
terms of versatility. I know a lot of people
here like to call him soft but as I've said
before, I think his game is more a finesse game.
Also, I want to say say I hate your team but
I don't necessarily hate the fans. One of my best
friends (and the person I've known the longest)
is a Lakers fan. You know, "hate the game not
the player"  :) Trolls I DO hate, though!

Yet many Lakers fans blame the refs for losing in the Finals, and round and round we go. Which is quite hilarious since the Lakers throughout the playoffs got more calls going their way than anyone else... mainly because they were the aggressors. I didn't hear any complains from them then. Then we get to the Finals and the Celtics are bullying the Lakers and they can't handle it. They become timid, so they don't attack... and since they don't attack they get no calls going their way.

It's as simple as that. And worthy to note, that the Celtics battled bad officiating (mostly against them) throughout the entire playoffs until they got to the Finals. Oh, and that steal of Kobe on Pierce to seal a win in LA during the Finals was a foul... I don't hear Laker fans complaining much about that.

But when you are lacking in size at the moment, and the refs foul out your best big man with phantom fouls, among other things, it's really quite ludicrous. Then you get about 3 fouls called against Perk for a bit of a bump here and there, and you get Fisher grabbing someone's arm in a critical moment in the game and nothing is called? Please.

Also, don't forget that Perk completely dominated Bynum during the season last year, so the notion that you guys would've won with Bynum is completely flawed.

You're getting very close to trolling.  If you don't like how our fans react to losses, I'd suggest you stay away from Celticsblog, before we make that choice for you.
