I agree that you could look at tonight's matchup as "trap game".

However, this team between last season and this season has gone into plenty of matchups that might've been seen as "trap games" and they don't seem to get caught up in it.  I think this team's veteran presence and demeanor allows it to focus on "one game at a time" and, rarely if ever, will you see a letdown.  It's just this team's personality.

Celtics will not get drawn into that trap tonight.  Will pull out the W.

I agree and will add another reason why they pull this one out.  When you have two rotation players down with the flu and Scal back home still seeing double, each guy dressing out will come in sharper and more focused knowing that they have to bring their A game to make up the difference.  If we were just cruising along with no injuries and all the world was right, I'd be more worried about a let down.  Just a thought.

A "trap game" is one you should win, but you don't.

I'm not sure that this is a game that the Celtics are supposed to win. They are on the road without their best player against a team that has been playing well.

What I would like to see is good basketball without KG, win or lose. You want to see BBD and Powe play well, and maybe a few productive minutes from O'Bryant (who didn't play that badly on Sunday, just never got the ball).

And not only are they missing their best player, but they are (likely) missing two other rotation guys (although I argue that Tony should not be in the rotation...but that is for another time).

This is going to be a tough game, and is going to take either another huge effort by Pierce or Allen, or some of the young guys who haven't really been playing to really step up.

I also heard Doc say Pierce was banged up in the win against the Twolves...this is all terrible timing, I thought the schedule was suppose to get easier? its slowing down, but the opponents are getting tougher in this stretch before and after all star break.. the schedule all-around has been twice as tough as last years an tougher then the rest of the contenders...very impressive 40-9
When you got it going, you got it going. I just keep my focus down the stretch. That's when I want the ball. I'm just not afraid to fail."-PaulPierce

I think it might have been were we not so short handed.

Of course, were we not so short handed, I don't think a trap game could really effect this team much, so yeah.

I consulted with Admiral Akbar and he said that it can't be a trap if you have built in excuses like "KG is out" or "everyone has the flu" or "Patrick O'Bryant might have to play some minutes before garbage time"

We needed a vintage Paul Pierce performance just to sneak by the lowly Timberwolves.   Our defense is in trouble without KG.   We could lose.

C's not only win tonight, they make it look easy, and tomorrow we all laugh at the thought of actually losing to Philly.

That's certainly possible.
