I'm sure many of you watched the Cavs/Magic game last night and certainly noticed Lebron's understated lack of complaining to the refs... which he confirmed in the post game press:

Quote
"I'm just trying to be quiet and not say anything to the refs," James said. "But it can get frustrating at times when you continue to just get beat up and you don't get the attention of the refs. I just try to be quiet and hopefully they'll call it the next time.

HAHAHA... I'm just trying to be quiet... HAHAHA that is one funny dude.

No kidding, i watched that game and quite he was not, he moaned every trip.

Now, i honestly thought he had a point on at least 3 calls (Dhoward was umm...."ver aggersive" with the body contact) But understated? come on lebron.

If he was able to say that with a straight face, he definitely has a career waiting for him in acting.  I only watched about a quarter of the game last night, and I saw a fair share of complaining.  The part when he was pleading for the continuation on his definite travel was the worst.  And I couldn't believe that Reggie Miller didn't understand that is was possible to have a shooting foul, but not continuation.

But the worst of all didn't come from LeBron.  Mike Brown made an absolute fool of himself.  LeBron got bumped by Hedo around the 3 pt line, with no call.  It should've been a foul, but whatever.  It didn't cause LeBron to lose the ball.  He made it by Hedo and then lost the ball going to the rim.  Mike Brown pretty much ran on the court and was flailing his arms, acting like one would after being confronted with the murdered of your child.

Now maybe this was pent up aggressive from earlier in the game, but it that was not the time to flip out.  It just made him look stupid.

He's a big baby, who expects to get a foul call everytime he goes to the hoop.  He travels half the time, and rarely gets called. And last night, had the audacity to insist that he had a continuation hoop with an "and one", when the refs correctly noted to him that he travelled before he scored. Still, they rewarded him two foul shots because he was in the act of shooting. Say what?  If you travelled while shooting, the basket is disallowed, but you still get two foul shots? Makes no sense. Leave it to Reggie Miller, after LBJ tanked both free throws, to say LBJ should have been given 3 points, and instead gets none, as if it were the fault of the refs. Thank you Mike Fratello for correcting him.

Lebron's complaining I understand. After all everyone knows every call has to go his way  ::). The problem is everyone else on the Cavs now expect to get all the calls too. They're always complaining. I just can't take Mike Brown seriously anymore after that ejection if Doc went crazy over every questionable offensive foul called on the Celtics he might as well stay home.

LeBron did have a case on some of those plays - the refs called that game like a playoff game and a lot of fouls by the book weren't whistled.  But it went both ways - I saw Howard get absolutely clubbed several times with no whistle as well.

The biggest problem is that not only does he complain incessantly, but he has slipped into the pattern of standing still and complaining/staring down the ref while the ball goes the other way for a fast break.  That's not a good quality in a team leader.

well, to be fair, he traveled because nelson wrapped him up and yanked him off balance during his drive to try to send him to the line for shots. its not like he just decided to take 3 steps and nelson barley brushed him.

It was the correct call. No basket, 2 shots.

I use to love to watch Lebron cause he is a freak athlete and could end up being the greatest bball player of all time. Now the guy has a sense of entitlement and is no longer humble, he whines like a 6th grader in a CYO game. Jordan was a whiner but only after winning a couple rings. I honestly can't stand the guy at all.

Look, I am always the first one to say that the refs don't determine a game but Lebron was getting hammered last night with no calls.  He went to the foul line 6 times all night.  Lebron is constantly bodied, slapped, pulled with no call just due to the fact that he is 270 pounds and can brush it off.  I would like to see Lebron chill out with his complaining and let Mike Brown handle it.

As to to whoever stated that Hedo 'bumped' Lebron on the play Mike Brown got a technical for needs to watch the replay again.  Hedo grabbed him and yanked him around with no foul call.  Then, on the other end of the floor, a touch foul is called against Courtney Lee.  Brown had every right to lose it.

Crabby getting hammered with no foul calls?  Good!

I was mostly with you until your last 2 sentences - Lee got bodychecked into the stanchion, and there was legitimate debate about whether it would be a flagrant (it shouldn't've been, and it wasn't, but it was a hard foul).  To see that as a "touch foul" is seeing it through some serious wine-and-gold glasses.  Like I said, the refs called it like a playoff game, and allowed a LOT of contact both ways.  Howard got hacked with no whistle several times too.  The refs were pretty consistent in letting both teams play, and Cleveland didn't adjust.

And the other part of the reason why LeBron didn't go to the line much is that he looked legitimately tentative in the 2nd half.  For the first time in his career that I've seen, he's starting to look tired - it happened in the Chicago and Lakers losses too.

Brown lost it before the call was made on the other end (which btw was much more than a "touch" foul).  And okay, maybe the "bump" wasn't the right wording.  I already admitted it should've been a foul.  But for a play that was 20+ feet away from the basket, and didn't affect the possession, it just seemed in poor taste for the guy to flip out so badly.

Seriosuly? waaaah...he could never get a foul call again and it still wont be justifcation for all the phantom calls the messiah has garnered since the day he came into the NBA..LeBron still gets more calls than anyone in the NBA, so if the refs miss one here and there I dont have any sympathy

First of all, I was definitely thinking of a different play on the Sasha foul.  Sasha had a legit foul there.  Nothing 'touch' about it.

Give me a break Tattered.  I would love to see your reaction if Pierce was treated this way.  You would be screaiming at anyone who would listen.

Lebron still gets more call than anyone?  So 3 fouls called on him all night is more than anyone who drives to the hoop that often should get?  Makes sense to me
