clearly. not sure why that's so tough for you to understand or admit. what sucks for you guys, though, is we're still better than you, and we'll still beat you in the playoffs again (assuming you earn the right to play us), despite the refs.

This is humorous.  I love the we are better than you argument without any facts to back it up.  You wonder why Boston fans have such a terrible reputation.....look no further.  I quiver at the thought of playing the Celtics after their domination of the Cavs in Cleveland when Cleveland was missing Z.  Oh wait, how did that game turn out again?

The TRUTH is that you won LAST year.  That's all you have right now.  See yah in the playoffs

Quite the generalization there. Just Celtics fans or us Boston fans as a whole?  I'd love to see you elaborate.

People hate success, it doesn't matter what you say dons, dont try.

I consider myself a reasonable sports fan, but the minute anyone figures out i'm from boston, its always time for them to inform me what a horrable sports fan i am. The TRUTH is that every fanbase has a percentage of reasonable people, and a percentage of complete ****s. its no higher one place than another (ive read the cavs boards MAC, your a great poster, but you have as many idiots as we do in the clevland sports scene, and saying anything else is untruthful.)

In the 80's it was LA, 90's NYC, and 2000 its been boston.

Success breeds jealousy.

Yes, anonymous message boards are the perfect way to get an accurate representation of a fan base.  ::)

And yes, the truth is that the Celtics won last year, and while that is all we have right now, it's more than the Cavs franchise has ever had.

But don't worry, I'm sure they make banners for winning a regular season game without your 3rd best player.

You have good insight about your own team, which is a definite championship contender, but I wouldn't be surprised to go on a Cavs blog and see LeBron James being deified, so why are you surprised that a Celtics Blog is biased towards it's own team?

I would love to elaborate, but let me get some things cleared up first.

First and foremost, I always say that you can never blame a loss on the refs.  You have to adjust to how the game is being called.  I alos said that Mike Brown was justified in going off on the refs last night, watch the replay and ask yourself how you would react if Hedo pulled Pierce like that with no call.

You will never find me whining about how Lebron doesn't get enough calls, I just find it funny that Celtic fans think there is this huge disparity between the way he is treated as compared to someone like Paul Pierce.  They both get calls all the time.  You will never see me complain about a call Pierce gets because I know Lebron gets the same calls.  Its a 2 way street.  It's too bad some people can't see that.

I respect the Celtics.  The Celtics are an elite team in the East and I look forward to facing them in the playoffs.  No, I am not scared of the Celtics.  I think the Cavs at full strength can win a 7 game series against them.

I also respect the majority of the fans on this site and I enjoy talking basketball.  The reputation I refer to points to the Boston fan (be it Celtics, Patriots or Red Sox Nation) that feels that Boston is the best because they are Boston.  They also feel Boston teams don't get the respect they deserve (i.e. the refs are against us) even though there really is no basis for this argument.  The Boston fan that gives no respect to other teams or their star players because they are not from Boston.  This is the fan that ruins your entire fan base's reputation.  They are rampant here in Cleveland, but gratefully, very few and far between at this site.  That is why I enjoy coming here.  I like talking basketball with level headed people who can show respect when need be.

Well I think we can agree on one thing....Mo Williams was more deserving of an all-star selection than Jameer Nelson.  8)

Actually, I think Jameer deserved to be in.  He has been playing out of his mind this year.  He is greatly improved from last year which has really helped Orlando.  He has developed quite the 3 point shot.

AI has no right to be in the game.  His spot probably should have gone to Mo.  But, that is a different discussion for a different time.

Playing above expectations doesn't make you an all star, it makes you a candidate for the MIP award.  Nelson has been a good story, but arguments can be made that he's the 3rd or 4th best player on his own team, and the same team should not be rewarded with two questionable all star selections, imo.

I agree that Nelson probably deserved to be in (I think he deserved to be in much more than Lewis), but I would definitely put Ray in ahead of Mo.  As good as Mo has been, Ray has been better.

Ray is scoring a point more per game, only averaging just under an assist less (and Mo is a PG), and shooting MUCH better from the field and 3 point line (.503 and .415 to .467 and .383).

I think Ray has been arguably as important to this C's team as anyone, and he really should be there, especially over AI and Mo Williams.

Dude, EVERY team's fans thinks the refs are against them, except for Duke, and that's only because they get receipts  ;).  Heck, you've been doing it on this very thread.  If you had to list the top 10 tendencies of being a rabid fan of a sports team, "constantly thinking the refs are screwing you over" would have to be somewhere on there.  It's universal.

I respect the hell out of LeBron, and he does take a lot of uncalled contact, but he also gets some calls that are extremely questionable.  The nature of being a physically dominant superstar is that some contact gets ignored because it doesn't seem to affect you, but you'll also get some bad calls your way.  I think on balance LeBron gets more than a fair shake from the refs.

And I'm glad to have you on here too, you debate things intelligently with an opposing fanbase without resorting to juvenile taunts or being ridiculously biased.  I doubt I could do the same for long on a Cavs forum.

I think it's kind of funny that a bunch of you are complaining about, well, LeBron complaining, when guys like KG and Perkins nearly break into tears during the game.

I'd say up until the West Coast trip, LeBron had been pretty normal with his comments to the officiating.  He'd usually just laugh, turn around and run down the court.  On the trip out West he did start getting body-bumped a lot and raked across the arms, but no calls. This has been the norm for about six games now. I think the tipping point was when he got punched in the face on a dunk, and the officials said it wasn't a foul "because he wasn't rerouted."

He gets his fair share of calls, but so do KG, Pierce, etc.  That's how the game is. He's a lot bigger than a lot of people so contact doesn't look as bad, but if Wade was hit that way he'd end up in the first row of the stands.

The whole traveling thing is extremely played out.  Everyone screams "travel" whenever he drives the ball, but it's rarely the case.  If you're so convinced he travels all the time, TiVo the game and make a compilation.

Thanks, TP for you.

I went to the Cavs game last night.  Lebron actually kept his mouth shut all night.  So did Mo, even after a terrible missed call.  I liked it.  The Cavs continued to play their game despite the officiating.  Z looked awesome.  Glad he is back for the Cavs.
