I think he should have been suspended for this. Anyone else agree?

The NBA loves to keep Fakers happy. If that was KG it would've been armageddon.

I would agree. If Garnett did that, all we'd hear about is how dirty he is and how he always takes cheap shots...  But if a Laker does it, now that's different.  ::)

I just watched the replay, and I don't see the outrage.  I have seen plenty of worse things this season (hell, Rondo gets hit harder once per game), and many didn't even get a flagrant 1, let alone a suspension.  Bynum was stuck out of position, and was trying to stop a guy running unimpeded to the basket.  He didn't take a swing, or do anything to try to injure the guy.  If Wallace wasn't injured on the play (which I think was more his fault for not protecting himself), I don't think this play would even be looked at twice.

Yes, he should have been suspended with 1 game. I agree with the upgrade to flagrant-2, that's what the refs should have called (and therefore Bynum should have been ejected). I thought that a flagrant 2 warrants an automatic suspension, but apparently I was wrong.

He should have been suspended, he wasn't making a play on the ball.

It wasn't that bad of a foul and he didn't try to force him down or anything. Let them play.

Good point. Bynum is becoming the Lakers big awkward hatchet man... and you don't hear a peep about it.

That being said, no suspension needed. It was just a flagrant foul.

Does anyone remember a foul commited by 76ers Marreese Speights over Brian Scalabrine? It was of no consequence, Scal didn't even hit the floor, but it was called a flagrant 2, Speights got ejected and suspended for 1 game.

Can someone explain to me why is Bynum's foul less serious? Or are people arguing this kind of fouls is not that serious and they should only call a shooting foul? Because, in that, case, you'd start watching basketball games where 99% of the shots would be jumpers.

In Europe, in FIBA basketball, the shooter (and the offensive player in general) is not nearly as protected as in the NBA - that's a big reason why there are a lot more of jump-shots in a FIBA game, it's hard to finish in the paint because defenders can get really physical. But even here this would warrant a small suspension to the offender; this kind of fouls, where guys are hit in midair without being able to foresee the contact, is extremely dangerous and, if tolerated and not punished harshly, would ruin the game.

The fact that the foul doesn't look bad doesn't mean it wasn't bad and dangerous. It was.

I agree with Larry Brown, except that I think it was a clumsy foul, not a particularly hard foul.

I didn't like the way he kept his elbow out but there's no need for suspension. It was a good hard borderline flagrant foul. Ten years ago it wouldn't even have been an issue. Twenty years ago it was commonplace along with clothesline and pushes from behind to undercut someone.

The Sternification(translated pussification) of the NBA is almost complete if we are complaining about that hit of Bynum's.

Meh I didn't think he'd be suspended. Didn't even get a flagrant for trying to pull off Lebron's head. That being said the league needs to get consistent with the suspension criteria. This season it seems they've been flipping coins to make the decision.

It's just the inconsistency that is so lame.

KG takes 1/2 a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. slap at somebody and he's suspended without even making contact. Paul makes a menacing gesture and it's $25,000.

Someone needs to collapse Stu Jackson and David Stern's lungs.

No supension or fine for Odom none for Bynum. There was no foul last year on the play that dislocated Perk's shoulder.
