I just watched the replay, and I don't see the outrage.  I have seen plenty of worse things this season (hell, Rondo gets hit harder once per game), and many didn't even get a flagrant 1, let alone a suspension.  Bynum was stuck out of position, and was trying to stop a guy running unimpeded to the basket.  He didn't take a swing, or do anything to try to injure the guy.  If Wallace wasn't injured on the play (which I think was more his fault for not protecting himself), I don't think this play would even be looked at twice.

i agree. i dont think bynum was out to hurt wallace from what i saw. bynum's elbow went up and hit wallace in just the right place and angle to break his rib.

if it werent for the injury, nothing would have been made of this foul. i have seen a lot worse ones without suspensions being issued.

hey, i dont like the lakers, but let's be honest on this one.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Hard foul.  Bad results.

He did not deserve a suspension.

And Wallace is very fragile.

Well, when KG got suspended I didn't think he meant to hurt anyone either.

Bynum actually did get fined for the dirty play

and stop kidding yourself, it was dirty, it wasnt a basketball play and he deserved a suspension and/or fine.;..if he gets away with plays like this, the lakers easily win it all

Well that's another story altogether.  I think most of us can agree that the KG suspension was pretty rediculous, and was an outlier.  When you look at what Bynum did compared to the majority of other hard fouls, it really is not any worse.

I just wonder what the people who thought Bynum's foul was so bad and dirty thought of Perks tonight?  Coming down on a players neck like Perk did with no play on the ball, the neck is a more fragile area than the chest and is more likely to result in a serious injury (says Dr. bdm860  ;D, I got my degree from the Brickowski School of Medicine in case you're wondering), although in this case it didn't.  I'm just wondering what the people who were outraged at Bynum's foul think about Perks tonight.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Did Bynum really make a play for the ball? Some say he did, others say he didn't. Either way Bynum sent someone to the hospital.
