Brand to Miami for Marion.  The Sixers will have to sweeten the deal considerably, either with a pick or a prospect, e.g Marreese Speights, or both.

Brand is basically untradeable with that terrible contract.

Isnt Speights probably part of the reason Brand has become available? I highly doubt they're gonna use the kid as a throw-in

And whoever said Brand is top 5 pf, even if healthy...is wrong

What was Brand's injury this season? Was it not just some small injury, or was it related to his past injury?

Who's ahead of him when he's healthy?

The thing to is that it's not like he's a young player that can quickly heal and play, he's old.  I mean, not old old, but he'll only be getting there soon.

No, Brand ids available because he's a terrible fit with the rest of the team, is injury prone, and has a truly terrible contract. No team will trade an expiring deal for him unless there are sweetners.

The Cavs are another possible home for Brand, especially if the Cavs learn that LeBron is headed out of town.

Im pretty sure the 76ers have been pleasently suprised with speights actually, hes played better than Brand, and the team has played better with him, and they obviously want to keep him, not get rid of him for the sake of getting rid of Brand...if so Elton must not only stink but be a lockerrom cancer...I just dont see anyway the 76ers trade away a big name player and any other team even wanting a rookie who plays the same position, I certainly dont see the 6ers giving up speights just to get rid of brand..they need him if they unload brand

It's not that Brand stinks or is a cancer.  It's that after this year they owe him 66 million dollars through 2013, even though it is obvious by now that he not the "missing piece" in Philly.

No GM will take on that financial obligation unless the trade is almost too good to be true.

I agree its amazing how all of the big off season moves haven't panned out. Just think how many people thought Philly was going to be an Eastern contender.

I've read that Brand is having a bad year due to the Sixers fast pace.  I'm not sure I buy that.  He may be slowing down a bit.  If Miami trades for him, maybe try Brand as an undersized center and Beasly at the power forward?  It seems like that lineup would be better than having Beasley on the bench.

I was one who thought Brand would greatly improve Philly.  However, I knew Baron Davis would flop on the Clips.

It was a shoulder injury, in a play with Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. No relation with his past injury (Achilles tendon, IIRC).

How about this?  It will make it like last summer never happened and Philly gets some good pieces.

I think Philly would be the only team to do it.  Clippers take on a lot of money for a lot of years.  Also, I think they're satisfied with Al Thornton at the 3.  I'm not sure Golden State wants to give up Randolph.  He's shown a lot of potential and raw ability.
do it

I could see a Marion for Brand swap between Philly and Miami happening. Miller, Marion, Iggy, and Dalembert would be a nice 4 man unit that could run a very very uptempo game and play some nice defense.

Other than this deal I could see three other teams being interested in Brand...

LA Lakers:

Swapping Odom for Brand with a couple other pieces for financial reasons. The Lakers are looking to trade Odom because he's a free agent next year and they might want to look for a replacement instead of loosing him for nothing. Brand gives the Lakers a great 6th man to play downlow and can give some reassurance to Bynum and his subpar season.

LA Clippers:
I wouldn't be surprised to see a deal revolved around Chris Kaman and Brand. Brand realizes he made a mistake in not returning to the Clippers, the Clippers want him back, and him and Baron can finally play together.

Blazers:
Lafrentz's expiring, a guy like Rodriguez, and a draft pick could be intriguing to the Sixers. They would save a lot of cap room especially with Miller a free agent next year and they'd be able to go after other big name free agents. Love the deal for the blazers too...

PG: Blake/Bayless
SG: Roy/ Rudy
SF: Outlaw/Webster/Batum
PF: Brand/ Aldrige/ Frye
C: Oden/Pryzbilla

I really like that for the Blazers they could then do something with Frye and maybe Batum or Webster to pick up a back up point.
