I wore ties for various co-ops. Nothing like making a 20 year old kid go out and buy a wardrobe full of business dress attire. At least I was handsomely compensated. Depending on where I work this summer, I may have to dust off that part of my closet. I suck at tying ties so I've left them pre-tied. Anyone else do this?
Haha!  Yeah, my one tie is hanging in the closet pre-tied.

My high school basketball coach enforced all players to wear ties to the away games. We often looked like complete slobs. None of us did the tie any justice with our shirts dangling by the hips, our pants stained with ketchup, and our shoes caked with mud. I never understood his insistence on the tie. The only thing that outweighed the stupidity of the rule was the silliness.

Oh, and sorry to deviate from the subject. But I couldn't resist throwing that story out to the Celtic Blog world.

the kids these days tend to dress very well actually - they seem to take pride in wearing the tie and looking good - but I have had a few who didn't pull it off very well...I personally like it better when I coach soccer and the kids wear their jerseys on gamedays

I think maybe i am supposed to but i am not going to do it
I rather buy expensive blazers and try to look cool without tie ( even if thats imposible)
rather than use tie and feel like strange with my self

Even if i look darn elegant with suit...(i only use them for weddings lol)  ::)

I hate wearing ties and never do now. When I was working it was in a medical facility and I came to work in jeans and tee shirt and changed into scrubs. That's the way to go.

I'm the same way.  I've actually had my mom pre tie a tie before I drove back to school once when I had a big presentation.  22 years old now, I guess I should finally learn how to really tie one.
do it

  • The good ole days.
Business casual Mon-Fri.  Rare times that I have was during informational interview/meetings with managers (I'm in a rotational program so I'm in a new role every 4 months) and a few times that I assisted with major presentations while hosting clients at our campus... full suit on those occasions.  But 49 out of 50 work days it's dress shoes, slacks, belt, and button up shirt.
