I wear dress shirts and dress pants, but no ties.  I've never understood ties... they are so uncomfortable and such a pain.  Whoever started that whole thing up is NOT my friend.

Ironically I had to wear them at my last job, which was for a disreputable telemarketing company.  They've since went under (YAY!)

Ties have two purposes: Marrying and burying.

Beyond that ... useless.

I wear one maybe three times a year, and those three times annoy me.

I can't tell if that's ironic or symbolic.  Just a thought.
God bless and good night!

You forgot military hanging but that's just quibbling.

I hate ties but must admit I look [dang] good in a suit. But what's worse than ties or bow ties. In my younger days I had a part time gig as a maitre'd at a function hall and every weekend I was in a tux. Hated that job to no end but you couldn't beat the $10/hr(this was 20 years ago so $10/hr was [dang] good for a part time job) and big tips. Some weekends I made more in the part time job than I did during the week.

But the tux, bow tie, pleated shirts with wing collars and cummerbunds had to go.

I'm suprised a basketball coach would only wear a tie three times a year. What outfit do you go with at your games, a Rick Majerus-style ugly sweater?

Only on game day, baby. Only on game day.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

personally, i'm thankful that rick majerus never wore a shirt and tie...you were probably one button-pop away from losing an eye if you were within 50 feet of him.

I get to wear t shirts and jeans to the office every day. I wear dress shirts sometimes, but we don't have a dress code so I could prolly come in wearing sweatpants if I wanted.
"Sam Cassell was heckling on the sideline when I walked down, He looked at me and was like, ‘You're getting the ball, I know you're getting the ball!'
said Allen.

And did Cassell, a man of many words, have anything to say after that?

"No, I told him he needed to wear a tie."

I agree with the marry/bury line, and in those situations I have to find someone to tie it for me.  Luckily I get to wear scrubs to work which is like wearing pajamas all day.

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
Every single day, except weekends.

I like ties though. Sometimes I even wear them when not working.
