Everyone is right.
It's mostly not having to bring the ball up, being allowed to just move catch and shoot,  and coming in when the team is blowing the opposition out certainly helps(no pressure).
I'm a huge Eddie House fan- at least once or twice a game he gets a shot off so quickly that it seems impossible- and amazingly, he hits a good percentage of them.
Whatever the reason, let's hope his great play continues- and Doc doesn't bench him for Sam again ;D

It's Eddie House. He's been in the league for almost a decade and he's always been like this: sometimes he's hot, sometimes he's not. I agree playing more time off-the-ball favours him, but I wouldn't read too much on it.

Another nice thing about Pruitt playign point and House at off of offense is that at 6'4", Pruitt can guard the off and House the point when on Defense....
Yes to some degree, but in most cases I'd still prefer Pruitt to defend the PG, simply because he's very good at keeping the opposing PG in front of him and preventing the other team from easily getting into their offense.

Agree with what others have said about the main question: Eddie is a streak shooter who is hot now, but playing the 2 rather than the 1 has helped him get -- and stay -- hot.  What was a little frustrating in the Miami game was that after Eddie's amazing 2nd quarter (six 3s and 20pts playing at the 2) Doc then had him playing the 1 in the second half, with markedly less impressive results (one 3, 5pts overall).  That one game encapsulates what everyone here is talking about.

Why? Because he is a jump shooter who happens to be hot. Case closed.  He will get cold again. And he will get hot again. Live by the jump shot, die by the jump shot.

yup yup.

Eddie also seems to be more comfortable catching and shooting off screens rather than standing around and waiting for someone to swing him the ball - which seems to be what happens when he is forced to play PG.

Yeah, I see your point re Pruitt on the point defensively as well, hard to argue with that. As long as Eddie can handle the 2 guard physically it is better with Gabe on point.

I wouldn't mind seeing a little Rondo / Pruitt combo now and again as well. Let Pruitt get his outside game going from the 2 spot here and there...

Oh man, my heart sunk a little bit with that sentence.  Yeah, I hope not.  But, I fully expect Sam to "retire" and become a coach when Starbury (or someone we could actually use, like PJ Brown) comes aboard.

no way is sam making jokes with doc about playing certain nights on national TV and laughing about the "NO" response if he wasen't 100% sure he will have rotation minutes by the end of the year.

Its coming, get ready.

Because TA is sitting in street clothes.

This allows Pruitt to run the point instead of House, and Rondo to be in with House a little more frequently. He is also seeing more time with Ray and PP on the floor instead of just him, TA, BBD, Powe, and PP OR Ray.

As a 2 House is the man. As a 1, he is not near as good. This nonsense about him only making shots in garbage time is stupid. He is either hot or cold like all streak shooters no matter when he is in. If he is getting more points in garbage time it is only because he is playing against less talented defenders who forget and leave him more than the better players do.

It's called ball movement and spacing. With TA and Leon sitting more the ball is moving around searching for the best shot and also with Scal, BBD, Eddie, Pruitt, and either Ray or Paul, you have five players that can shoot from the outside and hit it. The spacing is so much better and teams aren't packing it in because when they do,Eddie, Ray, Paul, BBD and Scal have killed them over the top.

Pretty easy answer when all is said and done.
