If you look, his shooting % are up to where you would want them for House (46% from the field, 44% from 3).

Why has his shooting from everywhere now clicked?

The other stat that jumps out to me is his assists have dropped by about half (1.4 to 0.8).  Makes me think that the are asking him to be less of a playmaker and more of the pure shooter that he is.

Why?  Because he is coming into games with 15pt leads.  He's always hot when the C's have a big lead.

i think the ball movement has been quite a bit better and that gets better looks for the shooters...

Going along with that line of thinking he's been playing more at the 2spot with not only Gabe but with Rondo as well and its helped him get cleaner looks. At times he has been trying to do way too much off the dribble and it's simply NOT his game at all. Playing next to Tony hasn't been a great pairing because of Tony's turnover issues when he handles and because Eddie is better suited moving without the ball. Right now Eddie's in a good groove with this rotation and it looks like Doc may have just stumbled into a way to take the lid off the rim for Eddie again. The other thing is that Eddie is just simply making shots now.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

I think there is something to be said about his role as a "playmaker" diminishing a bit.  When Rondo or Pruitt is in there, House is allowed to run around and roll off screens or just find ways to get open.  I think you can definitely see more confidence from him when he's asked to simply find his shot.  Something has to be said for the boost in confidence.

Also, he's just streaking right now. That's a shooter's nature. The man is hot but I do think that the change in strategy for him has helped contribute greatly.

Why? Because he is a jump shooter who happens to be hot. Case closed.  He will get cold again. And he will get hot again. Live by the jump shot, die by the jump shot.

Why? Because he primarily plays at SG now and not at PG...

Normaly i'd agree, but bridman is spot on.

Because he now plays with rondo/pruitt at the 1 and him at his natrual position, the 2.

Results of eddie not dribbling up, but rather catching and shooting.

Everyone here gets it: ball movement. Doc is playing Powe and TA(injury) less and House, Baby, PP, Rondo, Scal as a unit here and there. Those 5 guys are a heckuva unit right now in that they space the floor well and all get rid of the ball quickly and are good passers and have good hands. It doesn't hurt that there may be some randomness to House, and Scal and Ray shooting the ball better. But the floor is spaced well and of course the defensive effort is there. So the answer is ball movement and floor space and House is on fire too. And yes he isn't at the point.

Why? Because if Eddie House was 6'5" he'd be Ray Allen. Not really, but you get my point hopefully. Eddie House is an off guard in a point guard's body. There is very little difference between the pain I endure watching either Ray Allen or Eddie House try to run this offense from the top of the key or on the Break. It is painful.

Tommy point for the Original poster, he hit it on the head. It's almost impossible to successfully play players in this league at positions they are not built for. Eddie House is not built for the point. He is now doing only what he's best at...running around and coming off screens for jump shots which is pretty much the definition of the "off guard" position in this league.

I love it.

I agree with Buckner's revenge, Wideload and Birdman's opinions here, 110%.

I agree

I also agree, but submit that the fact that all he has to do right now with a PG in the lineup is float around the line looking for wide open shots is helping him as well.

it's a mistake to play eddie at the PG for anything like extended minutes.

He is much better as a 2, even if you have to swap defenders to get him onto the PG on defense so pruitt can play the opposing 2 gaurd.

Also, I tried to make this point in the thread "Pruitt, Walker and POB = more rest"...that I thought we were struggling in part during the 2-7 streak because:

A) the starters needed a little more rest & we could "hide" them with the starters
B) The second unit was lacking three things; a real point, a real back up SF and a real back up center. So this second unit was incomplete

With either Pruitt (who is playign a bit more now with some starters and with him getting more and more minutes from now on or Marbury coming in, I think we've solved the point guard issue moving forward.

Between TAllen & Bill Walker we might be able to solve the SF back problem. TA might be more useful here. On most nights he caould probably manage against second unit bigger small forwards. He'll have to handle the ball less at SF and will have a speed advantage on offense. If we can pull Walker along, perhpas he can play spot minutes when TA is gettign outsmuscled on occasion.

Now we just need to fin that back up center.

Another nice thing about Pruitt playign point and House at off of offense is that at 6'4", Pruitt can guard the off and House the point when on Defense....
