Personally I think this stretch right now is the best basketball this team has played all year long.  I am more impressed now than I was with the 19 game winning streak.

We are blowing more teams out during this streak than in the last.  The difference for me is that when the bench comes in the game they have gotten back to extending the lead and closing teams out instead of letting teams back in the game.  The starters minutes are going down by the game.

Individually I think Ray and Kevin have elevated their game during this run.  Rajon's playing just as well as he was during the 19 gamer.  Pierce's best stretch was actually when the team struggled.  They had to lean on him too much.  We play better as a team when he doesn't have to take the game over and his numbers are down.  This has been happening during this stretch.  Eddie has been a big difference during the past two weeks as well.

The 19 gamer was impressive but the only really good wins in my opinion were against the Hawks.  The Orlando game was at home and they were without Nelson.  The win Thursday in Orlando was a lot better in my opinion.

What do you guys think?  When was the team playing better ball, during the 19 gamer or the 8 game streak were on now?
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

The last 4 games have definitely been the most dominant stretch of the season (considering strength of opponent I'm not getting too excited about the Nets & Raps wins).  They've been punishing teams in this streak.

Still...19 in a row is pretty special
Yup

If they keep this streak going until 2/6 then we can compare.  :-)

I'm just proud that the bench is coming back around to how they were playing in the beginning of the season.

Eddie has really picked it up. I have a new theory, if we the members of CelticsBlog harp on a player's play enough, they improve. I can't explain how it works cause I'm not a scientist, however let's call in the CelticsBlog effect. Its happened with Eddie, Scal and BBD.

19 in a row is more impressive.

We're playing better basketball lately than I think we ever did during the streak however. I'm hoping we give it a go and see if we can make that our second longest winning streak this season  ;).

Definetly playing there best basketball right now, there were games during that 19 game stretch that werent impressive at all, these wins have all been impressive, especially the win in orlando where we didnt hit a single 3 and won tottally because of defense, and we're finally getting solid contribution from the bench.
the most dissapointing thing (well besides TA) : Leon Powe
Its mainly eddie house and BBD playing solid off the bench.
When you got it going, you got it going. I just keep my focus down the stretch. That's when I want the ball. I'm just not afraid to fail."-PaulPierce

Haha I definitely buy the CelticsBlog effect.  I think some of it is also because he is playing more with Rondo on the floor.  Not only does it allow him to run off screens all day, but there is a more effective playmaker getting him the ball then say if he was on the court with Pruitt or Tony Allen.

I saw them in person in Atlanta during the streak and they still had a lot of rough edges.  I was not surprised they struggled on the west coast trip with the way they were playing.

However, the ship seems to have been righted and I think Rondo is back to November form at this point and the defensive rotations are like a well oiled machine. Good stuff to see.

I credit Tony Allen's injury. Since he's gone down and Pruitt came in, House has played off guard almost all the time. This helps him a lot, and benefits the team.

The recent winning streak, our starters have been building big leads after 1 quarter.

I'm just happy that the Celts are coming out STRONG now, and I think that has been the biggest difference. I remember during the course of that last stretch (and even in many games last year), the Celtics would start off slow, the other team would take the lead, and then they would have to work from behind the rest of the game. Even though we still often won, the first 5 minutes of the last 4 games has been far more impressive in my opinion.

I hope we can keep these fast starts up because to me, that's the difference between this dominant team, and the one that struggled.

I love Tony Allen!

Until we beat LA and Cleveland the way we are beating other teams right now it really doesn't matter what our current win streak sits at except for home court throughout. That is the only thing that matter in the regular season. Home court and beating the teams we will face in the playoffs to increase our confidence and put fear into them. Those two teams currently think they are better than us. No one else does.

This is true... when I started harping on KG being a barker, he changed his tone, spruced up his game, and even called Pierce, Superman, which was exactly what I wanted to hear.

I'm sure that we don't think they're better than us.
