1. He's a free agent at the end of this season.

2. He's publicly stated that he has alot of respect for our Big Three and how unselfish they are (which could be taken as an indirect shot at Kobe).

3. I doubt very much that he would want to go back to the Lakers and play behind a "wanna a be" in Bynum and deal with kobe's ego.

4. Might he find great poleasure in coming off the bench and helping prevent Kobe from ever winning a title without him byt Playing in Boston?

5. Gets to play in Boston, with Garnett, Pierce and Ray Allen and a player's coach for the last few years of his career. Win a few more championships.

6. Might be a nice little farewell tour.

If I were Ainge I'd be all over that. All he'd have to do is come in and play 10-15 minutes a night, hard. He'd be a great back up center.

And how about Shaq winning a few titles in Boston while Kobe eats you know what out in LA.

I don't know, that would just feel good to me.

Shaq, Baby Shaq, KG and Perk up front...ouch.

I am pretty sure he is signed through next season.

I don't want him in the Celtics. He was the face of the Lakers for quite some time... that's reason enough.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
shaq's career is nearly over...he has a weight issue and sometimes i question his desire.  he's a great person, but his nba days are winding down and i don't see any value in him being a celtic, especially a couple years down the road.

He'd definitely be an upgrade from POB.  If he comes for cheap then why not?
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I'd take the second guy mentioned in this thread to come off the bench next season. Somehow I think Rasheed would mesh in exceptionally well with the vet's. He'll play both ends of the floor (inconsistency issues aside, we can't do better, and he just might come cheap). He'll also make the clubhouse a more joyful place. Yes he has personal issues, but he always seems to have a good camraderie with teammates wherever he goes.

Sheed on the Celtics would be a dream come true for me.  He's been my favorite player since forever.

Not only that, I really believe he'd be perfect in our system.

Ben Wallace doesn't feloniously win those DOPY's without Sheed.
God bless and good night!

To argue that he's not better off the bench than Davis and Powe, at a low salary, simply by virtue of being huge (and being Shaq) is outrageous.
God bless and good night!

I agree he would be the perfect pickup.  I think putting him next to Garnett (along with Perkins) would extend both of their careers, and make this team much more formidable.  He is absolutely perfect for the C's system, both offensively and defensively, and although he can be a bit ummm, crazy in many situations, I see his personality mixing well with the rest of the C's.

Shaq I'd pass on but the other guy (from now on refered to as He Who shall Not Be Named) would be a great signing.

his FG% is still right at .600 (.594) so if shaq is in your 2nd unit and 60% of his shots still fall... he's exactly what you want. hell we could put him in with his illigitemate son.
