Amazing that this debate even lasted 3 pages long! ::)

I go for a yes.

Maybe Perkins would be monstrous with the 2nd unit.

ROF****! Perk Overrated?

Tell me ONE person who isn't a Celtics fan who thinks Perk is more than a garbage man?

If NE1 is overrated its Rondo. If the Celtics had either Derrick Rose or Devin Harris on the team ppl would laugh at the idea of Rondo being an allstar

Are you talking about the Devin Harris that got shut down by Rondo 2 games in a row? The one who was so bad that his coach would not even start him in the second half and got to sit next to VC? Rondo has been discussed as an all-star by several people outside of the boston media. And most have noticed the correlation between Rondo playing well and the team winning. So I don't see how on earth Rondo is over-rated.

And also, plenty of people in the media (outside of the Celtics media) have noted Perkins importance to this team and have said he is far more than a garbage man.

Rondo is more overrated than Perk, and who outside of celtics nation has said Perk is more than just a garbage man? and even if they did, they're right...Perk plays a very important role on this team and hes extremely important to KG and the rest of the team, [edited] stop gushing about harris being benched, he wasnt even guarding rondo [edited], they were putting bigger men on rajon

I can't understand the first half of your paragraph. If you read outlets like ESPN, Perkins has been cited several times as crucial to the team.

As to Harris being benched, if his job was not to guard Rondo, I assume it was to guard Ray Allen, who went off in that game. So he did not do a good job defensively. And conversely, the Nets bigger men were not doing a good job on Rondo, given he had the offense flying.

But Rondo was guarding Harris. Aside from taking away much of Harris's scoring, Harris had a total of 4 assists and 9 turnovers those 2 games. People who only pay attention to scoring might laugh at Rondo being an all-star but people like that who had Harris on their team would be wondering why devin just got outplayed twice in a weak by a "scrub".

scal has been effective the last 4 games due to the matchups, kudos to scal on his play, but also doc for recognizing it is a favorable matchup for him.

Like I said before, I believe the Celtics winning % is higher when Scali starts for KG.

When Perk comes back, bench KG.

we started scal, faced shaq and is demolishing them cuz rondo has space to operate.

Let scal start as long as we keep winning . It really makes a difference to be able to open up the offense and not hurt the defense

It's great to see Scal in there, and he's playing well, but it's not like the team hasn't won without him.

i just wish scal wouldn't shoot so darn much...it seems like every time someone passes him the ball he jacks it up.

Really? He has one of the lowest usage rates in the team. You're probably confusing him with some other player.

I'm glad he's shooting when the ball is swung to him. Earlier in the year he would hesitate too much and it'd result in a lower percentage play.

I agree. Earlier he would never shoot even when wide open and not covered. It would totally much up the offense.
