I'm glad he is thinking like the fans and knows that we need to add a couple of more players if we want to repeat(and beat teams like the lakers and the cavs). He was sitting with the announcing team and also stated if the team had to cut some players for this to happen he will.

Right now it looks like the players that could be most likely -traded away are(no particular order)

Leon Powe (fa next year, hard worker but lacks height)
Gabe Pruitt (fa next year, has potential)
Big Baby (fa next year, unique player, lack of height)
Jr Giddens (personally rather not use him as trade bait)
Patrick obryant (not sure who will want him)

-Most likely cut

Patrick obryant (see above)
Sam Cassell(asst.coach anyways)

-FA that could sign with us

Robert Horry (7 time champ, big time bob)
Joe Smith(if bought out)
Alonzo Mourning

-Trades

??

I thought the celtics should have done alot more to try to secure nenad krstic. He would have been a crazy addition to our team

I loved this from Wyc... Saying on the air something along the lines of I don't think Danny's done yet. We need a guard and a big man... Some size.

Exactly. I find it kinda refreshing to hear that honesty from an owner rather then the secretive word games you usually get from the Sox and Pats. However, the flip side of that is it works for the Sox and Pats, who generally make the necessary additions because they keep the price down by not seeming desperate haha

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

I just wish he had said this before the season started.  I just have a feeling that Danny was handcuffed financially and only now that they see the plan didn't work, they are willing to go all out.

I really like this kid Ryan Anderson. I thought he was a only a tall(6'10) three point shooter but he plays smart and unlike scal also likes to mix it up down low. New Jersey also have alot of pf and c

New Jersey looks like they are hurting for some more pg/sg

To boston
Ryan Anderson

To New Jersey
Gabe Pruitt or Giddens and 2nd round pick

Horry is more done then Cassell.  I hope he is not the answer.

Wyc was awesome.  Great to hear him reaffirm that point, and really cool to see him genuinely touched by Tommy comparing him to Walter Brown.
Yup

No way does NJ make a trade like this.  They know what they have in Ryan Anderson, and probably believe he could have gone higher in the draft last June (and, as a Cal alum, I agree!).

He's right - regardless of what's happened in the past.

Now, let's get it done.

Now that Wyc has affirmed our 'needs', I am very curious how much leeway Danny has been given.

this just doesn't add up to me....if anything the Wyc interview confirms that luxury tax was never really the concern here.

the only thing that makes sense on Pose to me is that they just got blind-sided by that offer from NO....which quite frankly most people were also surprised by...

new has c/pf positions- Brooke lopez, josh boone, stromile swift, sean williams, eduardo najera, Yi Jilian and ryan anderson(he definitely can't be a sf because he won't be able to cover any in the league)

So thats a crap load of center and pf. They have a hurting backcourt other than harris, doolins, carter, and maybe jarvis hays.

I think the celtics could try at least to inquire about anderson. I'm impressed of his inside outside play

You are probably right but doesnt that reek of 'too many eggs' in the Posey basket and no decent fallback plan? I mean we cant believe Posey was the only quality player Danny had his eyes on, or can we?

The point is, we waited a long time and there is no indication of us making any other large midlevel size offers to anyone else other than possibly Maggette. It just seems like we  (Celtics) would be a little naive to only focus on Posey when he wasnt 'committing'.

you cant offer the MLE to another player at the same time as you have a sheet out to another guy (its also an insult to the player your targeting, even if you could). their hands were tied until posey decided, and james took his time.

If james had made his decsion to go to NO early, we would have had more targets for the MLE, but he didnt.

well, sort of....i basically agree that not signing Pose was a mistake, but i think targeting him as opposed to say Matt Barnes was the right decision...

the wrong decision IMO wasn't just going to that 4th year earlier...

anyway, i am buoyed by what Wyc said...

the commitment to winning is clear and strong and they are also very cognizant of being able to beat CLE..

honestly, as far as CLE is concerned i still am hoping for another push to get PJ back...he was a total pain in the neck to CLEs tough guy tactics.

they just added two players... Gabe Pruitt, and Bill Walker.
