He'll be denied by a sliver.

I want to know who the idiots are who will inevitably vote against Ricky Henderson.  There are always a handful.

What's the % he needs to get in and what's the % he got last year?   Doesn't it decrease each year?  I know he was real close last year.

At first I thought this was about Glen Rice but I'm assuming it's about Jim.

He's in.  76.4%.

Two thoughts:

1) I think 15 ballots is too long for eligibility.  I'd make it five years, and then go to the Veteran's committee.  I think letting guys in after being rejected for over a decade waters down the Hall (and this goes far beyond Jim Rice).

2) 5.2% of voters thought Rickey wasn't a Hall of Famer?  Really?  I'd love to hear the justification there.

It's that whole thing with the writers not believing any player should get unanimous, etc...so they take it among thereselves to vote against him.  its moronic.

Yes, he should have been in a long time ago. His #'s don't measure up to the steroid freaks that followed him but for a decade, Jim Rice was THE most feared hitter in all of baseball.

A decade of the type of numbers he put up is Hall worthy if Koufax's 7 years was enough to get him in.
