Well, another offseason, another Patriot assistant coach leaves to become a head coach.

McDaniels will be the new bronco's head coach.

I expect BIG, BIG things for that teams aerial game.  Running will likely take less of a focus and guys like Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall should have great years next year (and dont forget about Chad Jackson  ::)).

if he had a better gameplan we could have won the superbowl last year, we didn't run the whole first half.... thus making their probowl pass rush even more effectice becuase they didn't even have to worry about the run.

Had an inclination that this might happen.  Good situation for a 1st time head coach.

As a Pats fan, i'd hate to say it but the more I think about it, this would a great situation for McDaniels if he decided to test the head coaching waters.

Young, decent quarterback in Cutler, an above average offense to work with, an average division at best.  IMO,  a much better situation than a CLE or DET job.

Good.  He was nothing special.  I'm guessing Brian Billick becomes our O coordinator.

Curious if Belichick will take the reins of the offensive playcalling with a tutor under him (much like the situation when McDaniels first tookover) or if he will go looking outside the organization for an O coordinator.

I read somewhere last week that it was assumed that they would promote one of the guys in the organazation (cant remember his name, young guy) and Bill would pretty much control play calling.

I am surprised by the people who are quick to say it is no loss.  He did have a role in taking a QB who everyone wanted to cut and turning him into a guy who was valuable enough to likely warrant the franchise tag.  not to mention our team finished 11-5 (with most of the losses a direct relation to the horrid defense, not the offense).  Anytime you can take an offense, remove the qb (and best player) and come close to not missing a beat (the stats were pretty similar to last year, then that is something special.

It's also being reported that Dom Capers will be leaving NE to go with him (and that I could care less about since the secondary was putrid almost the entire year...with the exception of the improvement in play of Meriweather which may or may not have been related to Capers).

Does not matter.

As long as we have Bill, Tom, and Pioli, We are the true Godfather's of the NFL.

So what happens with Pioli goes to KC?  (hopefully that doesnt happen, but by all accounts they are negotiating)

Pioli has been great too, but all this success truly just strings down from having an owner that is truly a fan, and won't shy from spending becuase he cares about winning.
