NFL Playoffs

So far the teams with 1st round byes are 0-3 with only the Steelers left to buck the trend later today.   

A topsy turvy divisional playoffs so far.  Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game.  Defending Champion Giants ousted.  Rookie QB Flacco leading his team to the AFC Championship Game.

Right now, the teams with momentum are having the advantage rather than the teams with rest.

I am rooting for an Eagles-Chargers matchup.  That will move the Patriots up two draft spots.

Right now, the NBC suits have to be shaking.  No New York, no Dallas, No New England, No Indianapolis.

I'm guessing their hopes on are the Steelers making it to Super Bowl XLIII right now.

Hmm... I agree... but this will make 1 Superbowl where I honestly can not talk myself into rooting for anyone... I guess I would root for the Eagles... only because I hate the Chargers a tiny, tiny bit more than them.  Actually, who am I kidding, I despise the Chargers.

Welcome to the NFL where parity is going to make this year's Superbowl winner maybe one of the worst winning SuperBowl teams of all time.

New England was clearly the third or foruth best team in the league after the regular season and they didn't even make the playoffs after winning 11 games.

Tennessee proved that they were a complete fraud of a team.

Indy might have been the worst 12 win team in league history due to their pathetically easy schedule(Yes, I know, NE's was just as easy).

Giants got their come-uppance today. Now we have to see either the 9-6-1 Eagles or the 9-7 Cardinals in the Superbowl and they could possibly face the 8-8 Charges.

Yay parity!!!!! ::)

GE executives are cleaning their pistols and finding nice spots to jump from right about now.

I would probably root for the Eagles, but, like you, I don't really care either way.  It's just that my wife's family are all Eagles fans, so I'll hop on for the ride and be the cheery in-law.

I think I became a Raven's bandwagon guy just this very minute becaise I too want Pittsburgh not to win this in the worst way. Of course, if they did, they and the SB XL version of the Steelers would probably constitute the two worst Super Bowl winning teams in NFL history.

I go to school at BC and along with being a huge Patriots fan shapes who I am rooting for.
First I am rooting for teams with worse records than the Patriots to make the Super Bowl which would increase their draft position. The Patriots will already move up one spot because both the Eagles and Cards have worse records than the Pats. I am also rooting for the chargers to beat the Steelers for this reason.
The second reason I root against a team is so my friends who support that team can't talk trash to me. For this reason I can not root for the Eagles or Steelers.
Here's hoping for a Cardinals/Ravens Superbowl with the Ravens coming out on top.

This is definitely the weirdest NFL playoffs in years. I'm rooting for a Ravens and Eagles Super Bowl matchup. I've always been a fan of Donovan McNabb and I want him to finally win a ring. The Ravens.. well.. their defense is just amazing to watch. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed has got to be two of the most exciting defensive players in the league.

Pittsburgh bucks the trend of home losers this weekend and moves on.

Conference Championship Sunday is set.

NFC:  Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals

AFC:  Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers

First impression is looking like a Battle of Pennslyvania in the Super Bowl but after the events of this weekend, who knows what will happen.

The great thing is with Philly and Arizona winning, the pats moved from 24 in the draft to 23.

Arizona hosting the conference championship is unbelievable.

Same path the Pats took in `01 when Jacksonville took out Denver to enable the Pats to play in Foxboro after playing on the road in the Divisional round.

Any last minute predictions?

I'm thinking an All-Pennsylvania Super Bowl is likely but the way this season is going, I wouldn't be totally shocked if it ended up Baltimore-Arizona.  Been a crazy year when the norm doesn't seem to apply.

Eagles over Cards

Steelers over Ravens

(Of course, that is probably the kiss of death to Philly and Pittsburgh now  ::) )
