  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Man, I have not missed the days of hearing Scal's name during the starting lineup announcements.  His plus/minus numbers the past few games have been pretty good, though.  Must be all those intangibles.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Scal could be a decent back up PF if he worked his body better, and worked as hard as Posey on his 3.

Scal is what he is, not bad, but not good. He definitely gets a lot of credit for hustling simply because he looks like a guy who has no place on an NBA court.

Scal was 3-for-5 with a block and a steal and the team was +15 with him in there, but he's getting mocked.  That makes a lot of sense...

Meanwhile, the true fat blob on our team contributed the worst offensive game of any Celtics player in recent memory, and yet people stick to the tried and true chastisement of Scal.  Yep, that's understandable.

i think it's reasonable to give glen davis a little slack cuz he's a 2nd year player. scal is a vet. he knows better. he chose AGAIN to not work on his body.

i can't deny that i dislike scal MORE because of the lies(how much of a hustler he is, how he's good at the little things) constantly spouted about him.

Tommy said it best after the game: Scal is a situational player and today was the perfect situation to play him.  Toronto was using a perimeter player at center and Scal was the best matchup against him.  Good move by Doc.  And even more importantly than the couple shots he hit, was the feistiness he displayed on the court, standing up to Graham after Joey tried to start some nonsense.  We have sorely lack such spunk during this bad stretch and good for Scal for manning up and providing what we needed.

It's true, Scal doesn't deserve to be mocked for anything he did today, since it was one of his best performances of the year.  However, his situational effectiveness will never obscure his fundamental terribleness.  Scal will never be a consistent shooter, scorer, rebounder, or defender and will always be cursed by his inability to play within himself.  However, against certain guys on certain teams, his pestiness is effective.  But, other than about 15-20 situational games where his presence is helpful, he should never see the floor.  He does nothing well, other than being annoying.  Unfortunately for him, annoyance is easily counteracted by actual talent.

The worst offensive game of any Celtics player in recent memory?   Really?  Your memory must be slipping, because KG was 3-16 today.  Baby also had 11 rebounds and missed a bunch of layups he otherwise usually makes.  It's not like he was chucking 3s like Scal often does...these were makeup shots in the flow of the offense that he just missed.  There will be nights like that, just ask KG.

TP4U, baby was bad on offense, but he made some very, very good defensive plays and came up with 11 boards, 2 steals and at least 2 blocks i saw.

hardly a awful game.

Roy is right. Why do the same guys who rip Scal to shreds for having a few extra pounds on him, but is a very good team defender, can actually shoot the ball, and makes our team better sit there and tell us all that BBD is just big boned. The guy can't shoot, can't score around the rim, can't jump, and only rebounds every once in awhile, yet he is heralded as this great defender who is so valuable out there. Scal rotates every bit as well as BBD does, can guard a big man on the perimeter, and keeps us in our offense by hustling and setting picks yet he is the worthless scrub out there. Amazing how people can twist what they want to see.

Great job out there Scal. Once again when asked to fill a role you did it well. Keep up the great work and maybe one day these guys will see the light.

1-for-12 (8.3%) is worse than 3-for-16 (18.75%).  KG also has 2 assists, as compared to 0 for BBD.  Davis also had three turnovers as compared to one for KG.

So, yeah, BBD's offensive game was quite a bit worse in my opinion.
