How tradable is Ray?

Let me start by saying Ray is one of my favorite players. I think I was more excited when the Celtics got him that I was to get Garnett, but it might be time to at least think about a trade, and Ray is really the only tradable one of the big three. Ray can be a great shooter, but when he's in with the second unit, it appear that he has a hard time creating his own shot. Is passing, rebounding, and defense are good, but not great. To be honest, I think there a quite a few guys in the league who are better scorer and could bring alot of what Ray does to this club. I understand intangables, but let's face it, Ray's age is catching up to him.
So know my question. Is Ray really that tradable? I mean I read all these trade ideas but I wonder if there is any demand for him though out the league. He makes a lot of money and is on the books for another year, if I'm not mistaken. While I'm not saying to trade him today, I'm wondering if people are mistaken that they could get some good young players for him even if they wanted to.
Any thoughts?

If the right deal came along, Ray is the one I would part with.  He is a great shooter who goes through age related cold spells, and he is fairly one dimensional.  I think he would be a lot more efficient if he didn't play so many minutes.

I would wait until the offseason to trade Ray, if I traded him at all.

I think his only real value would be to trade him to another contender that needs shooting... oh, that would be us! :P  I don't see a bad team wanting or needing him.

i disagree with this statement...he gets to the hoop a LOT.

do we forget that this guy is our THIRD option (behind paul and KG).  the nba is a league of jump shooters...i think he's the one we can LEAST afford to part with.

the guy was playing on one leg last year and i still want him to have the ball coming his way with time expiring...and even PP and KG said, when asked, who they wanted to take the last shot they both said Ray.

I think many here are underestimating the guy and we'd miss him if he were gone...who the hell else can make an outside jumpshot besides pierce?  you want eddie out there chucking away from 3 pt. land all night?

But that's my question. Do you think the right deal would come along? Do you think Ray has any value to other teams, shot of any expiring contract, which wouldn't even be until next year? Are we deluding ourselves that he is a valuable commody?

Ray Allen is very tradeable (lots of teams would like Ray) .... but is he easy to uprgrade? Absolutely not, his age stops that. You could get good high quality talent back, but I think you'd be hard pressed to improve from the trade.

Yes, he is tradeable, but not realistically.  Teams would like him, but nobody would give up decent assets for him. 

I do not think the right deal would come along.  The team I see Ray best fitting would be Cleveland which obviously will never happen.  I think a team could be interested in trading for Ray going into the summer of '10 that wants to go in a new direction, but thats too far away to have a good idea what those options are.

[dang] the panic button gets pushed a little quickly around here for my tastes.

If someone told me Christmas morning that two weeks later people would be talking about trade scenarios for one of the big three there's no way in hell I would have believed them.

Let's look at the bright side fellas - Ray is having a cold streak right now it appears but maybe that means his cold streak won't come in the playoffs this year.

I think maybe two teams would think about wanting ray allen right now if a trade was offered and that is GS and Dallas.

here are the scenerios

Dallas would get Ray allen and Patrick Obryant and we would get back Josh howard and Devean George

There was always talks that dallas was thinking about moving josh howard. Ray allen with nowitski  would give dallas two of the best 3 point shooters in the league.

Gs would get Ray allen for Corey magette. Even though ray allens bombs away style will suit nelsons system they have too many guards and i'm not sure how this could work unless they traded another guard

I dont think any  team would be willing to give up half their roster to pay one declining shooter that kind of salary, sorry ray

Well if that is the case that you could get good high quality talent back, how could that not improve the team? Let's say for the sake of arguement you could get back a good scorer plus a good qualiy big for Ray. How does that not impove this team?

No team is giving up a star player who can contribute like ray for A 33 year old shooting gaurd.

No no no come on this is ridiculous. We have no loyalty to Ray Allen at all. Every time he's hot, we love him, but as soon as he goes cold we want to ship him out of town. He will start playing well again soon. Just chill.
