Seeing that most of the allegedly decline of KG is based on stats,how do anyone really know if he is playing through injury at this point?I find he wouldn't make a big deal out of being hurt,just play through it.Also,ive seen many nights where he deferred shots to Perk or another player.I think if KG wanted to pad or keep a 20/10 stat sheet up,he could still maintain it.

Maybe its the fact that I consitently see KG not being able to take advantage of smaller, lesser players, maybe its the fact that he has nights where he only has 1 rebound, and I know all of the intangibles he brings off the stat sheet, but he hasnt had an eye popping stat line once this season...Hes just not the elite elite player he once was, still very good nontheless

I love and respect KG, but I also realize what I've realized since the trade, we traded our future for a guy in his 30's and already in decline, was it woth it for 1 maybe 2 titles? yeah, but its gonna suck when this celtics era is over sooner rather than later

TP to you for speaking your true feelings,but i think your concerns are something only D.Ainge, wyc and partners can really answer.I know he is the highest paid player around,and i am one who feels they all are overpaid,not just KG.When it comes to NBA salaries i feel most players are overpaid.Thats just my opinion,and who cares about it,absolutely zero.

Now you have peaked my curiosity about something you said.Would you rather they kept Big Al and added some pieces around him over the next few seasons?So this wasn't so much about KG's declining at this point as it was about replacing Big Al with KG?

You need to look up KG's stats from the playoffs last year to refresh your memory.  He was the best player on the C's, statistically, which seems to be your focus, for the entire playoffs.  He significantly improved his #s over the regular season.  One thing your statistical analysis leaves out is MPG also, he is playing less, and with better players, so of course his #s will go down.

Using his APG as a barometer that his passing skills have gone down is just plain ludicrous.  The C's let the ball find the open man, never concerning themselves with who gets the assist or shot.  Of course he is not physically the same player, nobody is at his age, but the #s are a really poor indicator.  As with PP and RA, KG does what his team needs him to on any given night to win, the only relevant stat is Ws.  The 1 rebound game he had, Perk had a bunch, and the C's won, even KG himself joked in the press conference about what a bad game he had when he saw the stat sheet. Joked because his team won.  Would you rather he have a 12 board, 6 assist stat line every night but the C's having lost 10+ games so far?

thank you,i thought he had the best playoff performance statistically but during the heat of the debate i wasn't positive at that moment so i didn't add that comment in,but im glad someone else did.Also,i realized this wasn't so much about KG's declining as it was about losing Big Al,from reading the poster's words.

KG's minutes went up in the playoffs and he always started games very well, but gradually faded thoughout the game and series, and by the finals he was less than impressive, but once you win it all, all is forgotten, despite popular belief, KG at times is as soft as Pau Gasol offensively.
And My concern is he looks older this year than even last, his stats show it, and his inability to exploit certain matchups and dominate consistently shows decline,  and I think most our willing to agree he's past his prime, Doc has to manage his minutes so carefully because he has no other choice, KG gets fatigues quick and Im not saying we cant win this year, but at some point in the next few years KG will significantly drop off, its inevitable, and theres already small signs of it
