Shanahan is the one coach BB has trouble with... The thought of having him in the division is scary.

Shanahan had three years and upwards of $20 million remaining on his contract

That's gonna be expensive.

Definitely a case of "What have you done for me lately?"

  • The good ole days.
The Vikings need to write him a blank check... like 5 minutes ago.

Long time Broncos fan, it was time. The guy rode TD and Elway to 2 SB's but couldn't do jack since. Guy was trying to do everything like Holmgren. Guy needed to give up some power in Broncoland..

Tough to speculate right now b/c Shanahan was also the personal guy there.  So, i'm thinking that they'll grab a GM first.  Once, you see a GM in charge there, you'll probably get better insight into who the next head coach will be.

As a Pats fan, i'd hate to say it but the more I think about it, this would a great situation for McDaniels if he decided to test the head coaching waters.

Young, decent quarterback in Cutler, an above average offense to work with, an average division at best.  IMO,  a much better situation than a CLE or DET job.

If it's GM first you can't rule out the Broncos making a run at Pioli

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Shanahan won't be unemployed for very long at all. He's not the best head coach in the NFL but he's pretty darn good.

I honestly can't think of an upgrade the broncos can make. No matter who they take on it will be worse..good thing they've got a pretty talented qb...

I mean really, who is gonna get the most out of Peyton Hillis if not Shanahan?

That is totally shocking.

On the positive side, there's now no reason to not draft Denver running backs for fantasy football. ;D

have to be honest -- I never saw this one coming, but the Broncos have been sloping downwards.
