A must read on ESPN.com

Elena Delle Donne

The consensus best female basketball player in the country dropped out of UCONN to go to the University of Delaware and not play ball.

Why?

Because she was burned out at the age of 19, from having basketball shoved down her throat since the age of 7.  She wanted to just be a person.

The crazy part of this story is not the girl understanding that she needed / wanted her own life, it's the reaction of Gene Auriemma, the UCONN coach.  His comments read as if the girl is nuts.  I think just the opposite.
I love my kids - Call me a sap, but it's true.

i wish her luck and happiness.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
