Hey all, looking for a little help!
I'm flying into Chicago tomorrow morning, then heading out on a road trip to Vegas on the 28th with a friend. We have planned stops in KC and Boulder, CO for the nights to break up the 29 hour trip into drives of 9, 8, an 11 hours of driving per day. As you can imagine, we'll be driving through Iowa, northern Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and Utah. What I'm wondering is if anybody here has made a road trip across country before of a similar path or maybe lives out that way. We'll be looking for places to stop along the way for food and get a small taste of what life is like out there.
On the way back, we'll be going through Nebraska instead of Kansas and stopping in Omaha for a night and a Chili cookoff, again breaking it into a 3 day drive.
So, again, if anybody has ideas of good places to stop and get a bite not too far off the beaten path, please feel free to share!
Also, I've heard that Chicago is getting some bad weather, but it appears to be clearing up by Sunday, when we plan to take off, so we think we might only catch a little if any of it depending on when we leave. I also heard Denver got some bad weather or is this weekend (?) but what I saw led me to believe that by the 29th/30th, we might be OK. So please also share any weather information with me that I might be unaware of and should know! Thanks in advance everyone!
