Something Nice to Say About Kobe

His freakish focus on winning (or is the focus on just looking like a winner?) has helped make him an unbelievable player, but I'm not sure I'd want to be his sidekick.

To me, that's the book on Kobe.  He wants to be acclaimed as great, which isn't the same thing as wanting to be great.

he is an amazing basketball player, one of the best I have ever seen. i just do not get why the media tries to shove him down our throat as a great guy. he is not a good guy. he is a criminal, he is a crybaby, and he is a dispecibale human being.  he is a great player. nothing wrong with that.

i do not like him, but i almost feel about him as i do Arod. he is a scumbag, but one of the most amazing athletes i have ever seen in their sports. when kobe hits a shot, i do not get mad, i just shake my head. he is a top 5 all time player.  to deny how great he is, to me, if foolish.

I completely agree. 
He is an amazing player.  One of the greats.
But he is a repugnant person. 
On a related note, I really like how the NFL dealt with Ben Rothlesberger in contrast to how the NBA dealt with Kobe.
